OT: Airplane attack suspect taken to University Hospital

Submitted by NHWolverine on
I'm sure we all know about the airplane attack at Metro Airport yesterday, but were you aware that the event became even more eerily personal as they treated the suspect at U of M University hospital? From the AP wire article:
NBC News is reporting that the suspect was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center. One passenger was taken to the University Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Tracy Justice said.
I hope these events don't negatively impact anyone's holiday travel. Happy New Year everyone!

Yeah,we have a world class burn center. Did not help me; I needed three stitches after getting cut playing hockey(night time, student health closed). Went to UM ER, total bill: $865. Ouch.

Friday, late afternoon. Caught an elbow playing basketball, cut straight through my lip. UHS closed 45 minutes before it happened. Had to go to the ER. After 2 hours I left with three stitches and a $750 bill. Ridiculous. Only thing it taught me was that no matter how bad I'm hurt, if I can physically last until UHS opens, I will do it. That ER was absolutely ridiculous.

yet. It has, however, shaken my confidence in airport security (even though I've suspected for a while that it's not very good). I think it's a sad reminder that we're still at war against an enemy who has no respect for human life. As far as what prison to take him to, I vote for one of those "off the map" prisons.
