OT: Air Force O-line
Is there a D-1 team with a smaller offensive line than Air Force? The starters weigh an average of 259 pounds.

I'd guess that the service academies would have smaller players, but even Army's line is quite a bit larger:

Going 5-3 (even in the MWC) with that size is impressive.
Georgia Tech runs a similiar offense and while I don't have an exact weight average, they are fairly small as well in comparsion to other ACC schools. Like Michigan, they rely on quickness but even more so with the option.
...big offensive linemen to run that offense. Sure it would help, but with the way it's blocked the most important skill is agility. It's a positional scheme more than anything.
Though the plays look very different between U-M and AFA, many of the blocking principles are exactly the same. Michigan just benefits from the ability to attract the huge-yet-still-agile offensive linemen. (And you can see how the body types of the OL have changed since Lloyd's tenure.)
I could be wrong but I think the point he was trying to make was that while size doesn't matter (that's what she said) but it's insanely light as a collective OL.
but they could still have 300 lb tubbos if that's what they wanted. I'm only saying for what they do it makes more sense (much more) to have a smaller, nimbler guy even at the expense of the signifcant weight differential. AFA doesn't ask them to drive anyone off the ball at the point of attack.
