OT: Affordable Posters for GameDay!

Submitted by JR's Flow on

Until today there was no way I would be able to pay to get my Touchdown Jesus Denard Poster doone because I was looking at paying close to $70-$90 bucks for a 2' x 3' poster and to get it done. But I stumble upon this site Post Burner and they have a sale for a poster the same size for $19.99 and then additional $24.99 for a foam board to put the poster on. I am going  to just buy a posterboad here for cheaper. The print are normally 25 bucks but they have the deal so I upgrade for the express shipping that was $5 to make sure it gets here on time. If you want an affordable way to get a graphic on a poster check out Posterburner.com!

The Poster, look for me on GameDay! :

EDIT: Grrr ads....Just open it in another window if you want to see it in full

At first glance it looks like he has cat looking ears due to the logo in the background...I like the pun of the poster though. ND fans will surely love it.

Personally, I find this poster in poor taste as it leans towards sacrilege.  While I'm not religious in any aspect, I think we need to be more conscious of offending different religions/groups.

Ya know, I am religious, more specifically, Christian, and I just generally ignore anything like this. There are plenty of things that could be construed as being offensive, but life is too short to get your shorts in a wad about things like this.

I gained for myself some degree of infamy by complaining about NSFW pics at mgoblog. Not a mistake I'll repeat again. Thankfully, the mods stay up on that & politics anyway.

It's actually pretty interesting to see how the prevailing "group think" on "offensive" changes over time. My guess is that 40 years ago in Ann Arbor, anything with the military was offensive. Now it may be flipped (such that to criticize the military is "offensive.") Things with race are now offensive. Sexual Orientation. Gender/Sexism. Religion is an interesting one. My guess is that stuff with Islam or Judaism could still be thought offensive, but somehow, it's ok to take shots at mainstream Christianity and Catholicism.

There is a fine line where you are teasing and poking fun, and where you are slandering and crossing the line. Everyone also has a different threshhold for how stuff reflects on them personally. For instance, I kind of wonder at who would wear in public a T-Shirt emblazoned "Fuck Michigan." There's a guy down the street who has a "MILF Hunter" bumper sticker. Apart from the question of whether or not it is offensive, neither shirt nor sticker reflect well on the bearer. But hey, if they don't care, it's their right and perogative.

Subtlety is my preference. That's why "Worst State Ever" T-Shirts should never say "Ohio." For ND, I really like "Returning to Glory for More than 20 years."

What's wrong with making fun of so called legends. Holtz left the Minn coaching job for the ND job without saying goodbye to his players. He just got on a plane and left. That was a real class act. As for Bo ( I wonder just how well known he would have been if he had been called by his real name Glenn? Same for Wayne instead of Woody ) how can you be a legend when your bowl game record is 5 wins and 12 losses including 8 losses and 2 wins in the Rose Bowl?

Maybe the fact that he got to bowl games 17 times?Out of his 21 seasons of coaching. And he didnt go four years because there wasnt a bowl for him to go to. The fact he got to the rose bowl 10 times, more times than the average big ten/pac ten has been there, ever. Stay in your basement, troll.

Meijer prints posters (any jpg) pretty cheap and does a good job.  I've printed a few 20"x30" posters for 14.99.  And they do it in less than an hour (at least the AA-Saline Rd one does).

Now, now Yonkers calm down. So I'm a troll, huh? Trolls stay under bridges, not basements and anyhow there isn't a basement where i live. Bo, I'll call him Glenn, got to all those bowl games by beating up on the little eight. Remember during Glenn's and Wayne' s tenure the Big Ten was known as the Big Two (Osu was the other) and the Little Eight. By the way, so you don't have to look it up, Glenn was 11 wins, 10 losses, and 1 tie against Osu, 5-4-1 against Wayne.11-10-1 against Osu makes a legend? 5-12 in total bowl games makes a legend? Delude yourself all you want about Glenn "the legend", but facts speak for themselves.

Well they make an exception for you, seeing as all you do is go on this board and start talking shit about michigan and Bo. As most people can probably already see, you are the definition of a lowlife. Coming onto a board for a team your clearly not affiliated with to start shit. Get a life its pretty sad.

Calm down, calm down. By the way, you said "...coming onto a board for a team your clearly not..." the correct word is you're--- not your. You must have gone to a Yonkers school where they teach a different form of english. So I'm not affiliated with Michigan football you say. Well, I was born and raised in Ann Arbor and have lived here all my life. The first football game I remember going to was in 1945 when M played the Great Lakes Naval Training Academy. Joe Ponsetto was the captain. I also remember sneaking into the stadium to watch M play Army who had Glen Davis #41 and Felix "Doc" Blanchard #35 in the backfield in 1946. M lost that game. I remember the Mad Magicians of the 1947 team that won the 48 Rose Bowl. Ron Kramer #87 whose number is retired in the 50s. Kickets cost $3 for high school kids and under as long as they sat in the end zones. Band Day when Michigan high school marching bands could play at halftime. I could go on. I don't like Glenn because he became an embarrassment to the "U" because of his
<br>losing those bowl games and losing to Osu because he refused to develop a good passing game both on offense and defense. He also became an arrogant, know it all bully especially if anybody questioned his game strategy, no passing game, questionable zone pass defense, etc. Honestly, he really wasn't a very nice guy. After he left the U and became president of the Detroit Tigers he was the guy who fired the beloved Ernie Harwell (he was rehired when new owners took over). This was the most stupid thing a person could do to all the Tiger fans. He was absolutely despised for doing that. One last thing. How many national titles did he win? He had all that talent all those years and still ZERO championships. Couldn't win that necessary big one except for the '69 Osu win. That was his first and last real hurrah. Be cool Mr. Yonkers.

Well thanks for the story, it was a real tearjerker. Thanks for pointing out my grammatical errors, I guess i'll point out your spelling errors, last I checked 'Kickets' isnt a word in the english dictionary. Im sorry Bo's lack of NC's and him not being able to win in big games displeases you. But most of us have a high opinion of Bo around here. If you came into my household talking the way you do about Bo, you would get ZERO respect. Its the same  around here. And another thing, lets keep focus on Bo's Michigan tenure, because thats what your basis of argument was about.

This lecture of mine against Glenn S all started when Yonkers said..." but disrespecting a coaching legend (Yonkers was re to Holtz) is another. It be like ND brought posters saying stuff againist Bo,) First of all it's spelled against and "it be like" is not correct either. My spelling tickets with a k was because I hit the wrong key, not because I don't know how to spell or use correct grammar. Now back to Glenn. He retired after '89 because his joined at the hip buddy AD Don Canham retired. DC hired Glenn instead of Joe Paterno and gave Glenn free rein to do as he wanted and to stay as long as he wanted. So when DC left Glenn knew the new AD might not like some of the things he was doing so Glenn appointed Moeller as head coach and then took over as the new AD. yrs later Glenn got the offer from the dominio pizza guy who owned the Tigers and the self proclaimed ultimate MICHIGAN MAN was gone to Deeetroit and the teegrrs. That's it. This is the guy you have put a shiny halo above his head. Not quite so shiny now, right.

What about your blatant disregard for capitalization, pununciation, and indentation?

Forget it... your response is predictable.

"My mistakes are all intentional.  Yours are not.  Please respond again so I that can continue to demonstrate how miserable I am."

It's fine to question common knowledge - people question the theory of relativity all the time. It's all about your approach. You choose a username that makes it clear that you have a vendetta and you open up with it on the Board basically out of nowhere. I'll give you one more chance. Keep it up though, and you'll be living in a cave (as opposed to under a bridge).

If you are going to call out someone for a typo or gramm-o, please (spell)check yourself.  (I counted at least 3 more errors you made, but pointing them out on a message board is just ad hominem attack and not fair debate.)

Bo finished in the top 10 in the AP Poll16 times in his 21 years as the head coach of Michigan.  Polls may just be opinions, but it would seem at least the AP voters would disagree with you, if how well a team is regarded is any measure of the coach.

Is this the sweet smell of spam in the air?

I got one of my pictures printed by Foto1 out of Ann Arbor and they did a pretty nice job with it.  It's mounted on a baseboard and lacquered.  Looks nice above my Enterprise model (CVN-65, you geeks).
