i wonder why?
April 30th, 2010 at 11:05 AM ^
After watching the 30 seconds that my stomach could handle I am embarassed for them.

Play like a douchebag today? It's like the Osmond Brothers were commissioned to write that dreck
April 30th, 2010 at 11:15 AM ^
the Osmond video is better and it's not even close.

I'm just a graduate student at ND with no interest in ND sports, but I feel stained by this.
The comments on EDSBS for this video are great - no disabling comments there.
Perhaps the best comment?
The video could only have been better if it had an animated Touchdown Jesus jumped [sic] out of the real Touchdown Jesus and start “getting funky” like the rest of the white folk in the video.

It makes complete sense when you consider that all decision for The University Of Notre Dame are made by 75 year old white men completely out-of-touch with modern American culture and common sense.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:17 AM ^
I doubt the old white guy wrote the lyrics or pulled it together musically. Don't give them the satisfaction of laying the blame at his feet, this is lack of institutional control ;-)
Good one. Never mind stretching, videos like this should result in NCAA investigations- and in this case, sanctions are absolutely necessary.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:10 AM ^
...Notre Lame. This is another example of why college sports and contemporary music don't go together well.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:11 AM ^
At 2:45 into the video, you can almost hear the spirit of Knute Rockne calling out from hell to "stop the madness".
... Getting to 2:45 in the video. I couldn't even get there.

Their underwear was white before the Michigan game started.

you can take the 'seem to' out of your commentary any time now, Kthxbye...
which one are you in "Sharkhunter's" picture above?
April 30th, 2010 at 11:22 AM ^
this video will make the alumni think that joining the big ten was the year's best decision.
"we scrapped a hundred years worth of independence, but at least it wasn't another one of those video thingees with that fellow in the rakish derby"
April 30th, 2010 at 11:24 AM ^
+1 for '"rakish derby".

Why is the train whistle move so prominent? Are the quad city dj's in town?
Didn't they steal "we are" from PSU?
How can I get this "catchy jingle" out of my head?
April 30th, 2010 at 11:58 AM ^
im wearing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at al.....
April 30th, 2010 at 12:02 PM ^
Wow there is a blast from the past. I think I will need to go download that song now because it just popped into my head.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:46 AM ^
Please...we are waiting with bated breath to hear your justification for this.
April 30th, 2010 at 11:54 AM ^
that I can't get the friggin' song out of my head? I watched the video in abject horror and yet the chorus has not left my brain since. Is Freekbass in fact an evil genius, posing as a sad version of a white, untalented, Bootsy Collins??
April 30th, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
If they are who they think they are, they should self impose some sanctions...
Don't look like it though.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:00 PM ^
Is this how they landed Teo? We better get Bart Simpson to sing the Victors as a rap song or we are in BIG trouble.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:08 PM ^
I can't believe this...
I stumbled upon another Freekbass video, "I'm a Reds Fan"
People, this is circa 2006. 4 years ago! And Freekbass is sporting the same outfit, the same sunglasses, and is playing virtually the same song with background cheerleaders dancing.
This man needs some new material:
April 30th, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
That was rough on the stomach. I am going to post that for my ND friends before the game this year, and every year there after. Also, that was a fake guitar solo considering that guy is playing a bass, and a bass doesn't make that noise.
What's up with rapping John Lennon? That guy needs a good beat down.
If UM ever tries to do something like this, we must harness the power of the MGoblogosphere in order to ban it from all existence.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
ND is NOT allowed to EVER join the Big 10. That is so bad Glee wouldn't even do it.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
"Rawk music" doesn't seem so bad compared to whatever kind of "music" this song is purported to be. Imagine the negative feedback around Ann Arbor, especially from the "down in front" crowd, if this had been "We are Wolverines."
Eeeeew.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
Well, at least I watched this before lunch.
April 30th, 2010 at 12:39 PM ^
Seriously I'm with Crime Reporter...
Brian?

As I mentioned above, I'm a grad student at ND, and I still feel sick about this. I told my buddy (who teaches with me) that I would rather go through the Colorado Hail Mary than have UM put out some crap like this. He is convinced that there is something else going on - intelligent people couldn't possibly allow this to happen (or even worse, pay for this). Maybe it's a plot to get rejected by the Big Ten, or a senior prank by one of the dorms. He gets his Ph.D. at the end of the semester and is watching its value plummet.
We've emailed our class demanding an explanation for this shit.
We also have started to use "Freekbass" as a verb, as in:
"That student completely freekbassed that question - did they read anything?"
"I felt ill and freekbassed all over the floor"
"Did Matt Millen freekbass the draft again?"
I made it through 39 seconds. With the exception of Ghost of Bo I'll bet I dragged the MGoBoard "Average Seconds Endured" up a couple notches, thanks to my iron stomach.
I made through the whole thing.
I'm setting up a paypal account so you guys can donate to help pay for my therapy.
What a complete abomination. Hopefully LSU freek doesn't get a hold of this and shop in Tom Hammond for Freekbass.
They call this a "hype" video? I can't decide whether they were trying to channel the Big 'n Rich "Comin' to Your City" video from College Game Day or this was an original effort. Either way, its a perfect recruiting video for ND's opponents.
This makes hot hot hot look like cine-friggin-matic brilliance.
hurt recruiting.
I made the mistake of leaving this page up after being unable to force myself to watch more than 30 seconds. When I came back, my boyfriend was cackling like a maniac and babbling to himself. The poor soul had watched the whole thing.
Someone please make it stop. I need to watch the Sometimes When You're On video about 50 times on loop before I will be okay again.
it's really not that hard to resize a video before you post it.
its sooo baaaaad, I even muted it and it was still awful.
