OT: Abe Vigoda RIP(seriously)

This is very off topic. I know it's recruiting season. But many thought this day would never come.

Character actor Abe Vigoda, whose leathery, sad-eyed face made him ideal for playing the over-the-hill detective Phil Fish in the 1970s TV series "Barney Miller" and the doomed Mafia soldier in "The Godfather," died Tuesday at age 94.

Baummmm...ba-do-baummm...ba-do-baummmm....ba-do-ba-do-ba-do-ba-DO-ba...<enter keyboard and high hat>

One of the great bass lines in history. I understand time is precious, but I wish more TV shows still had theme songs.

RIP Fish and Tessio.

that the first thing Tessio says when they find out the meeting with Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey is at Jack Dempsey's restaurant is "good food." Italians, man. Even if you're only there to whack a guy, the pasta needs to be al dente.

'Fish' was my favorite character on a really great TV show, back when network TV was all there was and quality comedies ruled. TBH, though, I had no idea he was still around; I would have guessed that he was gone years ago. Not only that, but 94 is about 10 years younger than I would have guessed.
