Also the re-rise of Boy Bands/Teen Pop

Not saying I liked the shit, but the fact that there were sooo many options in the 90s was awesome.

Nowadays hip hop and pop have blended so much that everything starts sounding the same. Taylor Swift goes from country to pop, Katy Perry is on hip hop beats, Miley is twerking, then you have all these hip hop guys singing and relying on one of about 3 producers for a hit. It all runs together.

90s had both old school AND new school hip hop, had it's own version of pop, had grunge, alternative, R&B, jazz still lived in the 90s even if it wasn't good jazz or the same as when jazz was one of the most popular genres.

If you liked music, you had something to listen to.

Shit ain't the same.

It was the birth of reality TV, but it didn't dominate television. Music video were played. You had old school Nickelodeon and MTV. Old school Disney as well for the kids. Spongebob even came out in the 90s so the 90s can claim that.

Cartoon Network appeared which was awesome for kids growing up and their parents watching the stuff they grew up on.

SportsCenter and ESPN wasn't TMZ Sports. I repeat, SportsCenter and ESPN wasn't TMZ Sports.

You also had awesome sitcoms in the 90s while sitcoms were still relevant. Remember TGIF? Fresh Prince, Friends, Cheers went into the 90s, Seinfeld, Saved By The Bell, etc.

TV was better in the 90s than any other decade and that truly isn't debatable when you break it down.

Anyone remember Freakazoid? That was my shit. That and the Godzilla cartoon. Gargoyles was great too. That was my first time in America and since I was on break and didn't have any friends, most of my days were spent watching Cartoon Network catching up on all the cartoons I'd missed out on (though I was only 8 or 9). This was toward the end of the 90s.

  • The Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes share the record for most temple completions over the show's three seasons, both managing eight. Yet, out of the number of times going into the Temple, the Green Monkeys had a slightly better percentage (24-21). However, the Silver Snakes had the fastest contestants on the show.

It was all unreal man.  Those Pearl Jam albums were the truth.  Even Vitalogy and Yield are good disks.  And Live's album is one of the most overlooked, underappreciated albums ever.

Throw in Alice in Chains & GNR's Use Your Illusions in there too.  And then there was the rap which in itself was amazing.    What a decade. Shame what happened to music.
