Cris Collinsworth just said, during an Antrel Rolle wildcat play, that he (Rolle) can throw the ball 90 yards. Did anyone else hear this? All I can say is, Why on EARTH isn't he playing quarterback? That would probably count as the strongest arm in the NFL...
OT-90 yard throw by Antrel Rolle?
Said that they have seven kids....keeping her barefoot and pregnant.
But to each his own.
That was after she had battled, and beat, cancer. Here's a more recent pic.
I say smokin!!!!!!
Hello there beautiful. And wife.
Or Tim Tebow in drag doing the Gator chomp?
they are not all his biological kids...she was married before her and kurt shacked up.
assume anything coming out of Chris Collinsworth mouth is true. His contract must pay his by the word....
He (Collinsworth) is by far my least favorite NFL "commentator." He's annoying, and just acts like a know-it-all.
They pay Collinsworth? I assumed he was volunteering...
They said they saw him throw it 70 yards but the cardinals say he can throw it 90. thats nuts. Reminds me of that Michael Vick powerade commercial.
Doesn't mean that you should be a starting QB in the league. If it was all arm strength then Troy Smith would be a super star!
I was just kind of speaking to the ridiculousness of the number. You are correct, though.
And Terrelle Pryor!
not even in jest, his passes float like hot air balloons
iI like Collinsworth but he does like to spew a lot of bull. I mean there is no chance in hell that Rolle throws 90 yards. I mean in the CFL they have a QB challenge which tests longest throw as one of the challenges and the longest was 73 yards I believe.
a) They aren't NFL quarterbacks
b) Shouldn't your measurements be in metres? 73 metres = 79.8 yards.
Well, that is just an arrogant statement. The most important thing in the CFL is arm strength. Most CFL QB's have just as strong as an arm as many NFL QB's. And the CFL field is measured in yards, so why would I mean metres?
is better than CFL QBs. If CFL QBs are really good, they'd be playing in the NFL but they're not because they aren't good enough to play in the NFL.
In all fairness, he is talking about the arm-strength of the QBs. He is not saying they are as good as the NFL ones.
When the hell did I say better? And thanks for pointing out that if CFL QB's were better then NFL ones they would be in the NFL. I didn't know that. Arm strength doesn't equate to NFL success necessarily, and some CFL QB's have stronger arms.
equal success, than Jeff George would have been one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, but alas he was not. He sucked as a QB, but could I swear he could throw the ball 70+ yards in the air off of his back foot. Of course he usually threw off his back foot, unbalanced, which is why he sucked.
Because it's Canada, and they use metres.
But I can see why arm strength is so important, it must be very difficult to throw the ball with sticky fingers from all the maple syrup.
The field is 110 yards long.
In my experience Canadians are kind of half-assed about the metric system.
Rolle was in the wildcat and unleashed a hell of a perfect deep ball to Fitz, who amazingly dropped it.
Based on that throw - dude has an arm.
But Kurt Warner can still get it done - so I guess that is why the Cardinals never go with the wildcat.
Is not realistic. Very few people can do that
No one else bothered to try after that
Let's compare your salary in 2 years to his.
same thing could have been said about another Ryan....
to anyone's ;)
Sure, let's compare it now while he is still in college, not working.
Com'mon guy... you clearly need to smile more.
Because the need for 90 yard throws is minimal.
So you're telling me he could take a snap at his own 10 and hit a receiver in the endzone? 90 yards sounds long, but after you think about how far that actually is, I don't see any way that's true.
EDIT: Also, wouldn't you need to be in the pocket for like 7 seconds before throwing that ball, even if the guy you're throwing to is really really fast?
and I find it very unlikely as well, except when you say "he could hit a receiver in the endzone". Even if he could throw that far, I doubt he hits anyone at that distance....I guess one nevers knows though.
Can throw it 90 but who knows where it's going? Call it the Andre Ware/JaMarcus Ware syndrome. You wouldn't need seven seconds in the pocket as you have to include drop back time and time the ball is in flight.
can throw the ball 100 yards on his knees, and still manage to look fly in the process.
stay fly eye eye eye eye eye eye eye eye, til he die eye eye eye eye eye eye eye eye.
When that happened, were they shooting one of those Powerade commercials?
I bet you rolle could throw a football over those mountains over there too
I believe Collinsworth also said that Ron Powlus was going to win four Heismans.
Al Michaels just said "sooner or later 69 will be in your face"
Tell us something we DON'T know.
but Jared Zabransky can throw a potato 80 yards!
ryan mallett could throw the ball 86 yards in the air in HS persona non grata toney clemons once said that he thought mallett could throw it endzone to endzone.
i could see rolle having that type of arm strength, a strong arm alone does not a QB make.
If Antrel Rolle throws the ball 90 yards, I run a 4.2 forty.
josh furman runs a 4.2 forty......
