OT: 6-13-12 Tigers vs Cubs. Battle for first overall pick
Play Ball!
Porcello vs Garza in a pitchers duel.
Porcello looks determined; On the good side Porcello has his game face on. On the bad side Porcello has a bad case of bed head, I hope he's awake and ready to go
lalalalalala. I'm not listening to your pessimism. lalalalalala.
So long as he got up on the side of the bed that keeps the ball down, I'm OK with the bed head.
is just nasty looking.
If you had millions and millions invested in players that had to play on it would you really decide letting concerts tear it up is a good idea?
As for the game...looking like another typical Tiger game. Piss poor pitching against a very weak hitting team and piss poor hitting from our guys.
This is turning into a very long off-season.
I'm mildly surprised that Peralta didn't lob that double play throw into the dugout.
Go cubs Go!
I see that cubs fans are not welcome here.
I have tried, I mean really tried, to be patient with Porcello. But something has to happen. Either needs to collect himself in the minors or a change of scenery. He's just not a major leaguer right now.
Let's go Tigers! As a fan of both teams I cannot lose tonight.
Watching both of these teams IS losing
not really. Starving individuals in somolia would kill to be sitting in an air conditioned home watching baseball on a HD tv.
Tigers will win the central by 4.
Really high fly ball from Boesch makes it 6-4.
And Castro makes a fantastic play to rob Cabby of a hit.
I don't think the umpire even saw the play at the plate when he called Berry out.
Rod thought Berry was out. I think he was safe, but it was a bang bang play. Great to see Boesch heat up.
I think 89 victories wins the AL Central, so if the Tigers hold on today to win game 62 of the season, putting their record at 29-33, they will need to go 60-40 in the final 100 games to win the division. No problem?
With a win tonight we're 10 games under .500 since our 9-3 start. Playing .600 ball the rest of the way is a taller task than many of us realize.
But .600 ball is what people expected from this team for the entire season. It equates to 97 wins.
Note as well that much of the slump has occurred when players have been injured. If the team can get healthy, it could be a different story. Jackson already is making a difference.
Despite the record, it is pretty awesome to hear the "Let's Go Tigers!" chants at Wrigley, and quite clearly at that.
EDIT: AUSTIN! GREAT CATCH! TIGERS WIN!
I wish we wouldn't try to kill our outfielders in the process of getting the last out. Fergodssakes, we just got this one out of the body shop.
That was indeed a great catch. Going to be fun watching AJ and QB running down balls in the gap
Until Dirks gets back....
