OT - 49ers to be the second team to go 0-16?

Submitted by UMProud on

For 2015 what are the chances of the 49ers going 0-16?  They have lost a ton of players, their core coaching staff and may have some chemistry issues within the team.

Also some intangibles:

-Jed York being a meddlesome joke of an owner this has got to factor in

-Since 0-16 is a once in a lifetime thing and we've just seen the Lions do it a few years back...it is more likely to happen again!  It's weird but freaky statistical things happen like that in close proximity

-Spent a fortune on a new stadium which seems to dictate a horrible season if karma has it's way

-Lost more players in 1 year than pretty much...anybody?  I think I read a stat that said these guys had nearly 40% of the 49er playtime

So yeah they picked up some good guys but can a position coach yes man (Tomsula) that nobody wanted win in the NFL?

I'm seriously thinking of betting on lightning hitting twice @ 0-16 for the 49ers this year.

That team still has a lot of talent. Don't forget they had great drafts past 3/4 years knowing they were going to need to replace some players. Now they didn't expect Anthony Davis or Patrick Willis retiring. Also they had some good offseason pick ups. I can still see them being second in the division.

Virtually zero chance of them going 0-16. Ever if they were historically awful thee would be virtually zero chance, and they are not historically awful.

Kap is probably good for three wins himself.

Who cares?  I've pretty much used up my allotment of of Niners schadenfreude at this point, now it's back to disinterested apathy about them.  Harbaugh's ours now, so who cares what happens to his old team.

has tightened up its anus waiting for the cluster f%$# that is the 49rs season but none of us expects 0-16. Even the Raiders don't do that.

Yeah, I think the record is safe. I believe it was Jimmy Kimmel who said, "if no one on the team had any legs, they still couldn't lose any more games." The 49ers will win a few, though they're on the right track. It's good to have goals though.

The 49ers are on a downward slope, but it takes a special kind of all around ineptitude and sheer incompetence to go 0-16. Tomsula might be a lame duck coach and York might be a joke of a team CEO, but there is still a lot of talent on that team. Kaepernick is still one of the better QBs in the league, and he alone probably gets you 3-4 wins.

While they did hire Rod Marinelli 2.0 they will still manage to wins some games. And upset alert, they've only lost to the Lions once in the last 30 years.

And that didn't happen. You have to be very special to be 0-16 and that is pretty hard to do I think the 49ERS win maybe a few games this year.

Kinda tired of these posts. I wanted Harbaugh to Michigan just like everyone else here. Yes the 49ers are going to suck. However, if you have a new girlfriend/boyfriend stop stalking your ex and move on; same applies here.

I agree and I'm not a 9ers fan.  It's completely irrelevant to UM and it is pretty petty.  Who gives a flying rats ass what the 9ers do?  They won't go 0-16 and they won't win the super bowl.  Let's focus on Michigan and the joy of having Harbaugh back.

Even if the 9ers go ofer, they still aren't in the same discussion as the Lions.

The Lions have won 1 playoff game in 50+ years.

The 49ers had a Super Bowl dynasty once.

The Lions will never win a Super Bowl (with a Ford in charge)
