OT - 2017 Michigan Depth Chart for NCAA 14
I am trying to put together what our team is going to look like at the start of next year. Since we never get a depth chart posted from the coaches it's all mostly a best guess. I have a list of players at certain positions that are exactly that a best guess. Curious of any inside info or what positions people think some of these guys will play. I know it's only a video game but our team next year is going to see 1 hell of a drop off from this year’s! I know some of these kids might not actually sign with us but for right now I have them included. I also only have 69 roster spots on the game and was thinking about including Maurice Ways and maybe Sean Mckeon but I really like Eubanks to step up this season. I also have the Michigan defense set as a 4-2-5 so Jabrill can play on offense and special teams. I also think the 4-2-5 in the game better represents the way our defense plays in real life.

Will he even be on the team? He would be a fifth year guy. He didn't have a single carry in our last two games.

Man this brings back memories...I hate that they stopped making this game. I used to stay up all night the first night tweaking the ratings for not only Michigan, but about half of the players in the game.
I'd buy 3 of those preview magazines and then have a composite rating for everyone.
So sad. Thanks Ed O'Bannon.

I completely agree with you! It’s not all bad though I go pretty far into detail with things and through using and editing program have found ways to improve the gameplay quite a bit. Not sure if you still play anymore or not but if you do our rosters are on the ps3 and the gamertag for them is BossHawgzGoinHam.

Remember though that it was Dr. McCoy that warned, "Sure, slingshot around the Sun, pick up enough speed and you're in a time warp. If you don't, you're fried". Did the remaining copies of NCAA 14 slingshot around the Sun at speeds in excess of Warp 10? I am curious to see if it worked now.

You should try making the rosters for every team good God man! It normally takes me around 15-20+ hours per team and I normally do around 30-35 teams a season and all for free lol.

Grant Newsome would be a 83-84 right around Bredeson. Bredeson was a honorable mention from the B1G if I remember right that was the reason for his bump up to an 84.

These ratings match up with the actual NCAA 14 ratings that they have for incoming freshman. We took the results of like 35 classes or something like that to come up with the scale that we have.

DPJ is at WR he is a 81 overall. On a side not I have done the Michigan roster now for the past 3 seasons and the attributes of our recruits are changing a lot! Most of our LB's were around mid 70's in speed and low 80's in acceleration now they are in the 90's in acceleration same with a lot of other positions. We are getting way more athletic across the board.

I know who he is, I was shocked the guy I was responding to thought he didnt deserve anything over a 78

Every player’s rating is based on their 247 composite. The reason some freshmen will come in with a higher rating is quite simply because they were a higher rated recruit. Once I figure out the depth chart that’s when I start changing around player’s who didn’t see the field much overalls. It’s hard to give a ratings boost to player’s that never did much.

When I changed the defense from a 4-3 to a 4-2-5 we started playing lights out and blitzing from everywhere.
January 6th, 2017 at 9:58 PM ^
If we land Willie Gay his in game attributes will look like this.
Speed = 88
Acceleration = 93
Vertical = 90
I want him and Samuels the most their attributes far exceed anybody else's we have on the roster!
January 6th, 2017 at 10:06 PM ^
attributes are pretty spot on. unfortunately thats an 8-4 or 7-5 squad on season sim
January 6th, 2017 at 10:08 PM ^
class or two away from dynasty status however

I was kind of thinking the same thing myself. The OL is going to be my biggest ? For sure! Our secondary is also really scary we have no experience at all! In the FSU game I thought talent wise we were seriously outmatched. Since I pay so much attention to player’s overalls and stuff like that I have a different perspective than most. FSU’s last 5 classes far exceed ours and sometimes when you play teams that our well coached that talent shows through. We truly need more speed as a team and probably a conference.
January 7th, 2017 at 7:10 AM ^
Honestly, I don't think the talent gap was that wide (sans anyone being able to stay with Cook for the first half). Execution is what killed us. Michigan should have been at least 2 TD's ahead towards the end of the game but execution bit us in the arse, repeatedly. Don't get me wrong, FSU has recruited their asses off the past 5 years. But the only place that their talent showed being superior was our O line, which has been an issue for quite a few seasons now.
As a Chicagoan.... yeah... O...line.... and QB are things that I don't like to talk about often *hangs head*

I would bump Metellus and Hudson up, then move JKP to be the backup free saftey. I doubt he starts, especially with how Metellus has performed.
January 6th, 2017 at 10:47 PM ^
You're selling Chris Evans and the TEs short.
January 6th, 2017 at 10:56 PM ^
None of our TE's have put up any production at all. Evans iwas a 75 to start the season I think and I rate everybody using same system for the most part. Since Issac was considered the backup to Smith and it was stated that Evans was 3rd on our depth chart during the season that's what my depth chart shows. I have no problem with him being a 84/85 but no way he is higher than an 85 based off of production. I use a player's 247 composite and their stats to come up with their overall.
January 6th, 2017 at 11:12 PM ^
Evans averaged 7.0 yards per carry this past season. Small workload, granted, but the kid can play.
The TEs can, too. Did you see what they did in the bowl after Butt went down? I actually confused Bunting for Butt for a minute there.
January 6th, 2017 at 11:21 PM ^
January 6th, 2017 at 11:46 PM ^
What do you base that on? I fully expect Higdon to get some carries, but Evans appeared to be ahead of him as the 2016 season ended.
January 6th, 2017 at 11:59 PM ^
Higdon will not be the starter. It will be Evans. And Kareem Walker will start to get a lot of carries. Higdon will still get his share but highly unlikely he starts ahead of Evans.

I may upload to NCAA 2006 but these players would give is overall b when were an A- squad add 4/5 per playa....speight is definitely 90

Hence the 4-2-5 at the top of the screen. The game only allows you to use the MLB and RLB when you switch to a 4-2-5. Peppers cannot play on offense or special teams unless you switch us to a 4-2-5. Plus the team plays more realistic this way than when I had them at a 4-3.
January 7th, 2017 at 1:42 AM ^
I think Devin Bush Jr. should be closer to a 79-80. Just love his game, and think he will be vital in our D next year. Also Kareem Walker is such an unknown, but I hope he plays next season at a higher level than a 78. Looking at this makes me realize how young we will be next year, but how talented and deep we are for 2018-2019. Heres to hoping Jabrill comes back for a chance to compete for a B1G title. (he would probably be like a 96 or 97?)
