OT - 2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Submitted by sdogg1m on

A huge dilemma has hit America! Next year's Super Bowl will be played in an open air stadium in a northern climate. The players are made to handle such a situation but apparently this climate creates a problem for the halftime festivities.

If Beyonce won't play then why not have a marching band?! I read in the comments section that the Unversity of Michigan Marching Band led the halftime show for Super Bowl I.

Marching bands! YEAH!

Let's hope no power outage.  The way these things tend to work is that NYC and surrounding areas will be digging out from a foot of snow, and an extra 40 minutes of sitting in the stands won't be fun. Lip synching may happen again if its cold enough.

Here is a little piece about the ticket prices for last Sunday's game.  Cheapest seat over 2K.

Let the Foo Fighters or some other kick ass band that doesn't give two shits about the cold tear that place apart. No one wants to see Beyonce and calls themselves a football fan I'm sorry.

Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?  The article cites the "difficulty" of a crew setting up the stage in the case of "inclement weather."  The game isn't being played in Siberia or even Ann Arbor.  What are the odds it's snowing and/or below 20 degrees during the game?  10%?  5%?

I've never gotten the outrage over the decision to play the game in NYC (metro).  They will play the game.  There will be a halftime show.  And there will be power, that's for damn sure.

and have some of New York and New Jersey's native artists do a song or two acoustically, just them and a piano or guitar. Bruce (even though he just played halftime a few years ago), Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Jay Z. Have it be a "surprise" who all they're going to roll out there. I think it could work. Either that or Jessie J in her warm and comfy cat suit she wore for the Olympics closing.
