Saban should be able to use this to clear scholarships up to the 27 kids taking a gray shirt right now.

This is why the SEC needs to be allowed to oversign. Every year, you know you're going to have a handful of your players arrested for violent felonies

I wonder if each player will be dealt with differently depending on how they will contribute to the football team.

You see, this is because the Bama players don't see nor take any booster money. So they are dispirit enough to commit these crimes just to feed and dress themselves.

How did they come up with the 65k and 60k bail? I have a hard time believing people's parents just have that kind of cash laying around.

They'll end up paying a couple grand for the service.  Bail bond companies have no problems putting up bail for people like Alabama football players since they know theyll show up for court and get the 60k back.

Bail bondsmen have no trouble putting money up for almost anyone! How do I know? I work for the sheriffs dept, doing bonds. It's sad....

...and then they took his backpack and laptop. If that wasn't enough:

"In a second robbery, Williams admitted to police that he punched a student's head and face while Pettway and Hayes stood by and watched."

...this was the attack which involved the stealing of the credit card.

Recruiting for character apparently is not a problem if you don't in fact do it, I would think. I really hope these guys find their way off the team. This is awful, and I hope the victims recover fully and speedily.

Obviously Saban isn't paying them enough, so they've resorted to crime to make it by.

Idiots. You'd think this would be a lose-lose for all involved, but Saban always benefits.

So Bama just had players arrested who were rated as the #1, 5, 12, and 13 at their positions by Rivals. That is analogous to Derrick Green, Jake Butt, Taco and Dymonte suddenly running into trouble.

A few UM fans would die from stress while Bama folks are not worried because they have so much talent to fill those spots.

Their roster is flat out ridiculous.

I played against both DJ Pettway and Eddie Williams in high school (my claim to fame is that I once tackled him) and they were both studs obviously, along with being super dirty players. It doesn't come as much of a surprise to me to see this happen as DJ hails from inner city Pensacola, FL and Eddie inner city Panama City, FL and some questionable family situations.

and serious stuff at that.  don't know the sentencing guidelines in bama,  but if they have priors as juveniles (highly likely these are not 'starter' crimes') they could end up in the joint.  bad ju-ju.
