1-0 Mexico, 3:30 into the game, right after the US misses on a chance at the other end.
Early PK coming up here for the USA.
1-1! And we're all level! USA converts on the PK after a Mexico handball in the box!
Don't get me wrong as I'm glad the US tied it up. That handball call seemed pretty suspect to me. I'm really surprised that it was called as it seemed to hit the Mexican defender in the midsection and glance off part of his arm after that. Sometimes you just catch the breaks.
1-1 after 45 minutes of play.
We've played very well. This US team has a ton of technical skill, especially compared to the oafs on the senior team.
US was just robbed of a PK off of a beautifully executed free kick play. Ref swallowed his whistle after a blatant foul in the box by Mexico.
Gee, I thought for sure that guy's leg was broken. /s
Mexican fans up to their old antics. Starting to shine lasers into the eyes of the US keeper.
I hate those putos.
Chest save?!?!
Ohhhhhhh, man, thought that was going to be in.
Unbelievable save by the Mexican keeper off of an impeccible cross by the US.
Mierda, they score, 2-1.
Son of a dick
Well, this one got away from us quickly.
It was a good overall effort, especially in such a hostile environment. I'm excited for this team. Keep in mind that the senior team has never beaten Mexico in Mexico in a competitive match.
Don't know much about our U20 guys, but it never hurts to play on the big stage. Played tough.
For someone more informed, who on the U20 squad is closest to being a contributor on the senior team in the next few years
I may be only a little more informed, but from reading USSoccer.com, after the quarters when the US qualified for the U-20 World Cup this summer in Turkey, MF Caleb Stanko (Freiburg), who had worn the captain's armband for the first three games of the tournament, MF Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), and F Jerome Kiesewetter (Hertha Berlin) went back to their clubs.
MF Benji Joya (Santos Laguna) took over the captaincy for the last two games and scored on the PK. MF Will Trapp (Akron), Gil and F Jose Villareal (LA Galaxy) were named to the all-tournament team.
