It was a good overall effort, especially in such a hostile environment. I'm excited for this team. Keep in mind that the senior team has never beaten Mexico in Mexico in a competitive match.

Don't know much about our U20 guys, but it never hurts to play on the big stage. Played tough.

For someone more informed, who on the U20 squad is closest to being a contributor on the senior team in the next few years

I may be only a little more informed, but from reading USSoccer.com, after the quarters when the US qualified for the U-20 World Cup this summer in Turkey, MF Caleb Stanko (Freiburg), who had worn the captain's armband for the first three games of the tournament, MF Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), and F Jerome Kiesewetter (Hertha Berlin) went back to their clubs.

MF Benji Joya (Santos Laguna) took over the captaincy for the last two games and scored on the PK.  MF Will Trapp (Akron), Gil and F Jose Villareal (LA Galaxy) were named to the all-tournament team.
