OT: 2 University of Miami QBs transfer

Submitted by house of pain on

Per ESPN, Taylor cook and Cannon Smith tranfer from the U. Jacory Harris and A.J. Harris are the only two QBs on the roster for the canes. What a crappy situation for a program tryin to get on back track.

They've only got one QB commit for this class as well, and he's a low 3 star. They better hope Jacory Harris is both healthy and good at playing football or they're in trouble.

a program gets on "back track?" I suppose if they back tracked enough they could return to their NC season. Maybe we can back track to 1997?

EDIT* I didn't mean to be an ass, but I fear I have. Just trying to be funny :(

...is a disciplinarian who took over for a pushover; this is not the Miami kids expect fo find when they get there. Sadly, though, from what I hear anyway, no matter what he does, he can't stop the Dade County clique from making things difficult for many players who come in from "out of town."

Since most of his best players come from Dade County, particularly Miami NW and Booker T Washington, this is a big problem. Shannon has a great and inspirational story; it would be great to see him succeed, but I have to agree with AmaizinBlue here. I just don't think Shannon will get enough time in Miami to turn around what Coker did to the program.

Have they publicly stated why they were transferring?

It makes a big difference (at least IMHE) whether they left because of the likelihood of significant playing time, Alabama-esque "unspecified violations of team rules," actual violations of team rules, or run-of-the-mill "I didn't fit in with the program."

I'm guessing the MSM will blame RR for running him off. It seems to be his fault everytime someone transfers.

(Yes, I realize this is Miami and RR is the coach at Michigan)
