OT - 1st Road Gm - Football Party Food
But it got pretty cold here in Michigan, and I was saving a chili recipe for later this year, but it might be cold enough to break it out now. I've been experimenting and havent found an awesome one yet. If anyone has great chili recipes (either chicken, turkey or beef) please post them here!
(This is the white chicken chili recipe i think im going to try:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 (4 ounce) can diced jalapeno peppers
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
- 3 cups chopped cooked chicken breast
- 3 (15 ounce) cans white beans
- 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
How to make it
- Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Slowly cook and stir the onion until tender. Mix in the garlic, jalapeno, green chile peppers, cumin, oregano and cayenne. Continue to cook and stir the mixture until tender, about 3 minutes. Mix in the chicken broth, chicken and white beans. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Remove the mixture from heat. Slowly stir in the cheese until melted. Serve warm.
For this weekend I just grabbed hot dogs and fixings
2 - packets of mccormick's white chicken chili seasoning (follow directions on back of packet)
2 - pounds sauteed chicken cut into cubes and seasoned with lawrys seasoning salt and chili powder
1 - 16oz jar of salsa (I prefer HOT)
2 - cans great northern beans (1 - undrained, 1 - drained)
1 - can black beans (undrained)
1 - can of corn (drained)
Throw it all in a pot and cook until hot.
And of course top with plenty of fritos, sour cream, and colby jack cheese.
Simple and delicious.
sounds delicious, I'll have to try it soon
Rotel and Philly Cream Cheese
Love it. I do Rotel and half Philly Cream Cheese and half Velveeta. Gotta love the processed cheese brick.
Going out and gettin the ingrediants now...this will be awesome for saturday...and no i dont have Rotel stocked in the pantry.
Anyone try it with ground beaf added? just wondering!!
Either one of those are great. I was easily swayed by the Rotel sponsorship on BTN. Turns out the stuff is really good when mixed. I just do it on a stove top pot, but the microwave works fine too.
Chicken Wing Dip!
- Manwich (1 can)
- Ground beef (1 lb)
- Taco sauce (3-4 tsp's)
- 3/4 cubed Velveeta block (big block)
- Refried beans
- Little bit of cayene pepper (can adjust based on how hot you want it)
- Chopped jalapenos
Beans first, then beef, then taco sauce/jalepenos - mix it together, then add the cheese cubed at the top. Bake at 350 until the cheese melts and then mix together. Best dip ever.
what brand taco sauce do you use?
I have always been a fan of Frank's Red Hot. I put that stuff on anything that has beef and/or cheese.
I just use Taco Bell brand in the store. Or you could get cheap and just get some packets to go.
I am so close to just making this tonite for the hell of it. That sounds so damn good.
It's amazing. I used to do the Rotel/Velveeta/Sausage dip but it doesn't hold a candle to this.
A fattie is a sausage roll stuffed with all kinds of goodness...peppers, potatoes, whatever. Put a bacon weave on it and smoke a fattie!
ABT's (atomic buffalo turds)... best done on a smoker, but there are plenty of recipes out there using other cooking methods.
I did up a bunch of these before UConn last week. Very tasty.
So do MOINK balls-bacon wrapped meatballs, baste 'em in teriyaki or whatever sounds good.
Ingredients: 1 lb. small shrimp (30-40 ct. or smaller); 1 15 oz. can of tomato sauce (get the good stuff--it matters); 1/4 cup of diced white onion; 1 jalapeno or red chili pepper, seeded & minced; 1/4 cup chopped cilantro; 1 tsp. chili sauce; juice of 3 small limes; 1 medium-sized tomato, chopped to medium-dice; 2 avocadoes, chopped to large dice; bag of your favorite tortilla chips
Instructions: boil the shrimp in salted water until frim and curled into a C-shape (or just buy pre-cooked shrimp); in a mixing bowl, combine the tomato sauce, onion, jalapeno, cilantro, chili sauce, lime juice, tomato, and shimp; cover & refrigerate 1 hour or more; when ready to serve, add avocadoes, stir, and enjoy
Potato wedges with sour cream and sweet chili sauce. It's the fundamental pub food in Australia, and the sweet chili sauce is in the Asian section of Meijer.
Pour a half pint of guiness and drop in shot of jameson and baileys. Pound it and enjoy the game.
I want to go to a Michigan game and see someone dressed up as your avatar.
