The report said the victim "sustained bruises on his neck from this event."
At about 10:25 a.m., two males were witnessed "wrestling on the ground" in the South Oval, according to the police report. The primary witness is a university employee who declined to comment, but said in the police report that Berry was muttering things such as "I don't know what is going on around me." The report said Berry "appeared confused and disoriented and was unable to tell me his name."
The middle-aged woman said that the student on the ground had attacked another student. The student on the ground, who was later identified as Jaamal Berry, was clearly out of sorts and appeared to be quite disconnected from his surroundings."

For an extremely talented player. This kid was supposed to tear the B1G up but there has always been something that keeps him off the field. From looking at the comments it looks like the fans have given up on him, hopefully he can get it together because he was a real talent.

Calling the "redgreene" post racist is moronic at best.  When you throw that word around in cases where it obviously doesn't apply, it trivializes the countless instances where racism is actually present.

For the record, I thought it was one of the funniest posts I have read here for awhile, and wish we could pos-bang again so I could see how many points it ended up with.

I try to give some insight and get called a lier? Forget it then. Why would I lie? How in the hell does that benefit me in anyway? Especially on a Michigan blog.

People lie on the internet, Slim. It's a fact. There are over a million OSU fans who want these kinds of stories explained away, so the incentive to lie is there.

If you're telling the truth, thanks for sharing, and don't take it personally that random internet guys don't believe you.

I'm sure the truth will come out eventually either way. Hopefully for Berry he can get his act together and have a nice and successful life which includes no more wins over Michigan.

If this was a first off the field issue, i dont think it would be a HUGE deal, but the kid already got caught with more weed than Johnny Depp in BLOW..... good choices

Hypothesis #1:  Disorientation due to concussion sustained in the altercation

Hypothesis #2(and my favorite) schizophrenia.  Schizophrenia often goes hand in hand with substance abuse, in that the schizophrenia can both be caused by and cause substance abuse.

Hypothesis #3: Dude was high/possible drugs for sporting equipment deal gone bad.

Interesting case in any event, but I think we can all agree it would be more news worthy if an OSU player WASNT involved in an assault.  Good luck finding a day when that goes down.

I'm sure "Smokey" from Friday saw everything go down.  Once Berry got knocked the F out he quickly switched his affiliation to the other dudes possey.  No chance he is going to snitch, though.

I feel bad for Berry (also the kid that has some big ass football player randomly jump him).

Substance abuse can be an ugly problem in football.  A lot of players don't smoke weed because of the culture but because it helps cover up their various aches and pains they get during the season.  I saw friends from HS go from casual smokers to "bowl to get out of bed" kind of people as their football career progressed.

The really sad stories are the ones that get addicted to an even worse painkiller.  Weed will make you dumb stuff like eat two pizzas, too many codienes or the like will really mess you up.

Could be drugs, could be he took a good shot to the head, but it's also not uncommon for severe mental illness (like schizophrenia or assorted psychoses) to begin manifesting themselves at a college age for the first time.  For his sake I hope it's not the last of those.
