When I read the post I thought they just asked the question figuring she may not know anything about football. Of course there was a map.....with a big ass dot over Green Bay. She could have at least gone with Appleton.

Did the map just show where Wisconsin is and where Michigan is? If she had been thinking Milwaukee, that really isn't that unreasonable, if she has no idea what city has the football team.

After all, Milwaukee does host Wisconsin's NBA franchise. It is still smaller than Detroit, but not by all that much. If the map made it clear that it was Green Bay and Detroit, that wasn't the best guess ever . . . .

To be absolutely fair, the last month or so has made me wonder if, in fact, I actually live some 18 miles SW of Green Bay and have merely been driving each day to a building remarkably similar to the one to which I am supposed to report. It's very difficult to know with Alpine snow piles sitting everywhere in the Great Lakes.

But seriously, Michigan was labelled and the dot was not in Michigan. It was reasonably straightforward.

It's something a lot of football fans know, Green Bay has barely over 100,000 people living there despite having one of the largest fanbases, but it wasn't actually a bad guess. Detroit is likely the second smallest city with an NFL franchise. It has over 5 million people living in its metro area, but a population of only around 680,000 in the city limits, and still shrinking.
Edit: But I guess buckeyes can't read maps either.

Detroit has a population around 700,000. Buffalo New York is around 260,000 and shrinking. New Orleans is around 370,000. There are probably a few others lower than or around Detroit.

I really doubt there are even 680,000 in Detroit proper anymore though...

Seattle, Denver, and Miami are all small geographically -- the city line doesn't stretch that far from the center -- but in the midst of good-sized metropolitan areas.  The Denver MSA is 2.6MM people, the Seattle / Tacoma MSA is 3.6MM, and the Miami / Ft Lauderdale / West Palm Beach MSA is 5.8MM.  Detroit is actually the 14th largest MSA by population (4.3MM).  There are an awful lot of people in the suburbs.

Of course, I'd be tempted to argue that the smallest city with an NFL franchise is Foxboro, Mass. :-)

It's actually funny that the trolls would laugh considering they don't want to acknowledge the UP is in Michigan!  Oh well, sending my tax dollars down anyway.

We once tried to fight a war with Ohio for Toledo, and to make us stop, the federal govt bought us off with the UP. Not only is that a far better prize than Toledo, not only is it home to some of the best hunting and fishing in the world, not only do its tourism dollars make up a substantial portion of the state's industry, but having the UP is a constant troll of both Ohio and Wisconsin

Ya to da U.P. I say!

They took away the three-quarters of da UP that Wisconsin Territory had and added it to the quarter that was already part of Michigan.  Took two conventions in Ann Arbor to (perhaps) agree to these terms to get statehood.  I say perhaps since the 2nd convention was not called by the legislature and was not considered valid.  But the feds took the result anyways.

When I read the OP, I thought to myself "that isn't really thread-worthy for someone who may not care much about the NFL".

Then I watched the video and saw that she got a map to go with it with a big dot over Green Bay. Wow.

Alex was not as condescending when he said, "No" as he was after the guy gave the correct answer and Alex said to her, "That's Wisconsin."

In fairness to her, Michigan is nowhere near Ohio so why should she know that wasn't Detroit. Oh wait......

I've read all the comments and now I'll watch the video.....so my take is, she read MI and thought that was her clue. Not saying her friends won't make fun of her rightfully so for a while, just saying I can see how she panicked.
