OSU: Scout Team Helmets Converted to Winged Helmets for Rivalry Week

Submitted by boliver46 on

Someone (not naming names) pointed out some content on 11Warriors regarding Don Brown.

Out of curiosity - I spent a little more time on their site, and noticed this article.

Apparently Ohio State is forcing having their Scout Team don Winged Helmets in anticipation of the Game.

I can't imagine Michigan doing this - but #Harbaugh might take any and all steps necessary to fire up the team.

Yes, scout players will be subjected to wearing Michigan's winged pattern helmets. Let's hope this results in zero deaths.

What say you?  Could you see our backups donning Silver and Grey (barf!) to set the tone?

***Edit 2: Apparently people took the "Big Game" too seriously***

"TTUN" is the cringiest though. I see that and an unreasonable rage creeps into my soul for a few seconds before I remind myself how fucking stupid it is.

My uncle is part of the "dipshit OSU fan en masse" that we all think of when thinking of coolers being defecated in and the like. Anyway, he's been texting me, relentlessly, using "TTUN" liberally throughout.

This seemingly harmless acronym makes me hate, HATE, my own uncle. I don't know why. Stupid is as stupid does and all, but FUCK ME I HATE THAT SHIT.

Fuckin, "TTUN haz no chance this year lolz"

UAAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHUUUGGGGGG!!!!

Honestly you've got to admire their dedication.

I hope they got the updated finish right.  Can you imagine the confusion if JT Barrett stepped up under center and found himself staring down a pack of Matte winged helmets instead of the Gloss ones he practiced against?

From the Super Bowl wiki:

The NFL restricts the use of its "Super Bowl" trademark; it is frequently called the Big Game or other generic terms by non-sponsoring corporations. Because of the high viewership, commercial airtime during the Super Bowl broadcast is the most expensive of the year, leading to companies regularly developing their most expensive advertisements for this broadcast. As a result, watching and discussing the broadcast's commercials has become a significant aspect of the event.[10] In addition, popular singers and musicians including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Beyoncé, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Whitney Houston have performed during the event's pre-game and halftime ceremonies.

you made yourself an account over there.   then posted the oscar meyer meme.   nicely done.

i would ask if they sent you to bolvia, but if you're in ohio, aren't you already in a place that's way worse?  bolivia would be an upgrade.

and would trade the entire state of ohio, not just the sliver that was toledo, for the UP.   in fact, there's probably a few more states i'd trade too.

also, your post over there inspired me to get an account.  it was pretty easy, but is still 'pending'.   i might just post over there.   we'll see.

These OSU counterfeit helmets look like our week 1 helmets.   They should be adorned with stickers by the time that the OSU game rolls around.   Maybe that will confuse them in the game.

maybe college kids are different enough so that this moves the needle, but I perfer what I see as the Harbaugh method, which is to put every ounce of energy and every minute into getting ready to go out and be the best team they have been all year.  If you don't get this game, having the scout team with opposing helmets won't get you there.

I've got nothing but respect for the guys who show up every day in practice and end up on the scout team, even at OSU.

Let those guys enjoy wearing the best helmets in football for once - they've earned it.
