OSU: RB Elliot, QB Barrett undergo surgery

Submitted by justingoblue on

From the Columbus Dispatch, Ezekiel Elliot will miss spring practice after wrist surgery scheduled for Friday. JT Barrett had surgery this week to remove screws from the ankle he broke in The Game; he's expected to throw in spring practice but won't be at full speed until mid-summer.

That said, we're still 283 days, 14 hours and 33 minutes* away from The Game, assuming a traditional noon start.

Seriously...this might be the one team for which injuries are a blessing.

Another QB down?  That's OK, our 4th stringer's little sister can chuck the ball reasonably well...and the first female QB in B1G history goes on to win the championship of the galaxy!

Has Braxton Miller confirmed he is returning to Ohio State? I just think this is gonna be a very bad situation, Usually it wood be good but 3 qbs who have all started and contributed to them. If Cardale gets benched after winning their 3 biggest games and stayed I can guarantee he will throw a twitter tantrum.

I would hope that Cardale/JT/Braxton knew the risk after the 24/7 media coverage that has been given to it. It is no secret that OSU has 3 starting-caliber QBs, and two will have to be backup, but they also know that there's always a chance they'll come in during injury relief and continue without missing a beat.

I have been wondering about Miller, assuming he stays at OSU. I have my doubts his NFL future will be at QB.  Could he plan to be transitioning to another position?

As for Barrett, hopefully he will return to what he was before his injury, but dislocated ankles are serious injuries. Of the three QB's, Jones has the best arm and I'd bet he will be the starter.
