OSU Depth Chart 2015
Looking over OSU's depth chart it is pretty scary to think what they will be next year - this was actually the year they were supposed to be a "year away". Here is a Rivals 2 deep and who will be lost bolded - not many. 10 players out of 44. For QB I just assumed Barrett and Jones stay and Braxton leaves; who knows how it all sorts out, maybe Jones transfers to Miss State or similar; he needs to find a similar offense. Doesn't matter, at this point their 5th WR throws better than most teams QBs.
I don't know how many early entry candidates they have - Washington at DT looks like the obvious one. Only areas that take any real hits are WRs and 1 DE spot.
3 of their top 6 LB are FR or RS FR - 3 of their 4 safeties are underclassmen, etc
Class is for 2014, so add a year for 2015

I realize recruiting rankings aren't the end all be all but according to the rankings UM and OSU have recruited at a similiar level. Meyer's done an incredible job of developing those recruits. UM under Hoke not so much. OSU is loaded but I don't exactly think the cupboard is bare at UM. Now maybe there will end up being a some whiffs on the UM roster, but I'm interested to see what Harbaugh can do with this roster.

I think the recruiting ranking are close. I believe the actual recruiting is relatively close, but OSU still is the pretty clear winner. But Hoke and Co also didn't develop the talent nearly as well.
One thing with Hoke and Co is they seemed to recruit so groups really well. OL, LB, etc. My opinion is that a low 4-star isn't a whole lot different than a high 3-star though. As you go further down the rankings you hit the upslope on the bell curve. OSU has quite a few top 100 recruits and sure fire guys. Hoke seemed to get a ton of top 250ish types and wasn't as solid at some positions.
I do think Hoke and Co recruited what they could get. I don't blame them really for the types of players they brought in; I think for the most part, that was the best that was available for them. It's not like they didn't offer those other guys. But combining the fact that they were a little lower recruits, a little less all around players, and less developement, well, that turns into a decent size gap in a hurry.
Don't get me wrong, this Michigan team could beat OSU on any given day. They've pushed them to the limit the last two years. There is enough talent on this team to beat any team on the schedule. I don't expect them to, because I don't think there is enough college level talent (read: developed skill) to be that successful, but any one-off game there is.

To hell with OSU.

I for one want to puke knowing their 3rd string QB is better than our starter.
Puke. Just cannot wrap my mind around this. Could you guys imagine Bellomy or Cleary winning the BigTen title and Sugar bowl?
Good god.

I like your neologism. From 'discust' we can get to 'discussed', which is a combination of disgust and cuss, and means 'having cussed due to disgust.' This captures what the board devolved into during almost every football game this season.

Is Noah Spence expected to return when he stops touching himself from all the ecstacy?

Hilarious - how weird is Elliott too - did you see him at the end of the game.
Frigging wierd.

Yeah, there is something off about the dude

I think the B1G said he couldn't come back. I'm about 90% sure he won't be back.

He's permanently ineligible unless the B1G changes its policy and applies the change retroactively.

No Spence is expected to declare and is also permanently ineligible at this point.

Im very interested to see how losing Herman impacts their team. Does anyone know if Herman is planning to take any assistant coaches with him?

Meyer has had good offenses regardless of the OC, I really don't see a huge drop off there. It's Meyer's overall scheme, and he has significant input as well. It may take some time to adjust a little bit, but it shouldn't be a huge issue.

Maybe a graduate assistant or two, but none of the position coaches.

They are loaded. They will always be loaded. We need to be loaded as well and have answers to their talent with equal talent. We have not had a defensive answer for OSU ever since they moved away from the pocket passer QBs. Luckily, Harbaugh is quite familiar with shutting down Oregon. They key is dominant lines IMO. We need this ASAP. We return a ton of guys on both lines. Hopefully Harbaugh's enthusiasm, ability, intensity, etc. can get them to produce.

As long as OSU has Warinner coaching the OL, OSU's offense will never truly be shut down. Maybe slowed, but he is too good at molding O-Linemen. Recruits have noticed, too, and OSU's OL recruiting will only continue to be top notch while he's there.
