landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
Just put a fence around Ohio Stadium and declare it a prison.
When he wasn't calling it "The Snakepit," he was calling it "The Penitentiary."
I've volunteered in prisons, and the inmates actually want to attend classes.
Well it does offer a better education than OSU.
"We came to play SCHOOL!" - Inmate #7238
Who knew the armed police at the top were there to keep the players in?
Stub Hub informed me that it's been cancelled since OSU cant field a full team. :-/
Pardon me while I go grab a seat over at Eleven Warriors.
I like the line "Don't feed the trolls." Because OSU fans wouldn't troll.
I'm sure if it was our players, they would take the high road.
I do feel sorry--for the victims. I hope that the players involved learn a lesson, grow and change their behaviors. This is bigger than football. Young people make mistakes. This is an opportunity for them that I hope they take.
Sad that the thing that makes the author cry isn't young men making mistakes, or harm to victims, but that the young men happen to play for his team.
I'll just leave this here and let it speak for itself...
"Of all the things I dislike about the media , bashing OSU is number one. I fear that the many jackasses who insist on bashing OSU will be giving themselves writers cramps, or shortness of breath over these two players.
I am asking all of us buckeye loving 11 warriors to ignore any of the media outlets who will be bashing us. Please don't feed in to their bullcrap. There is no need to defend any of our Buckeyes. "
"There is no need to defend any of our Buckeyes. "
Actually, I'm imagining they'll each be retaining council for exactly that purpose.
I love how the OP in that piece calls it bull crap for the media to question the integrity of osu football.
"In Urban we trust."
the same advert to the side of the post - "Arrested? Get out of jail - Legal Help"?
Unbelievable, perfect, divinely ordained.
This just keeps getting better
we've all done this one. i think we are now being a little opportunistic...
If this were to happen any other day of the year, I would find myself upset that it got posted as your right, we've all done this (in fact mine was done in HS).
HOWEVA, the fact that Ohio had 3 arrests/tickets in 1 weekend, combined with the whole Aaron Hernandez/Florida arrests/Muschamp calling out Urban for NCAA violations. Yeah, I will grab my bowl of popcorn and enjoy.
True, however, most of us didn't have an offer for a free "education" at a "school" just for playing a game. I don't agree with the law one bit, but if I had the opportunity this young man had, I would be trying pretty hard to stay out of trouble. It's not what he did, it's when and where he chose to do it.
While it's funny because it's part of an off-season clusterfuck down there, an MIP is nothing.
O-H . . .
I'm not sure if it is getting comical at this point or just downright sad.
Your sig line is extremely relevant today; also, great book/film it refers to if I do say so myself.
I have a friend over at OTE that I'm going to go bug the shit out of now...
I can see why the paper in Columbus is called the "Dispatch." Rename it the Police Dispach.
Someone at Florida must have turned him in.
I think I found Urban's next Assistant Coach
If it weren't for the other events, this would pretty much be a non-issue. This on top of the weekend OSU has had makes it hilarious.
MIP? Well that covers the "drugs" part too. This is going to turn into a bingo game of off season incidents.
I will take a DL with a weapon in the locker room at 5:43 p.m. EST.
Do fists count as weapons?
What's it called, Friday Night Under the Lights, has just been changed up a bit. Instead of under the stadium lights, they installed giant search lights with barbed wire fencing around the field. Gives it that realistic touch....
As much as I love a good ol' fashion Buckeye implosion, let's not forget we had some offseason issues last summer ourselves. 18-22 y/o's will do stupid stuff everywhere, it's how the staff handles the disciplinary actions that is the difference.
...so this past weekend should be filed away next time bucks fans forget the little saying "Those in glass houses..."
I will take the high road as long as I can until they give me a reason not to.
Ok Tennessee police
Yeah, I'm enjoying the pile on, but an 18 year old getting cited for open container and underage drinking? Meh. However, it does add to the pile of evidence the type of coach Meyer is.
This isn't really a big deal. But all this news is really tempting me to go stir the pot at 11W.
Maybe many of us on here drank alcohol before it was legal, but were we arrested for it? Or were we public personas at the time of arrest?
Yes, glass houses and all with a certain punter on our team, but in my experience you had to be doing something pretty stupid to get an MIP.
Need to make that DECISIONS mural bigger, more words
To be fair, alcohol as a drug is kind of a grey area. If they're adding square footage, they might want to be a little more explicit about some of their categorizations.
Maybe having words is the problem. Redo the sign but use pictures to illustrate the message, maybe that would help.
I could see how these Ohio kids could get confused. To me this sign looks like it reads: Honesty? Treat women with respect? NO! ... Drugs? Thums Up!; Stealing? Thumbs Up! Weapons? Thumbs Up!
Is this real, or is this a photoshop I am not aware of?
I could definitely see how those kids down south could interpret that sign as you said. I mean they didn't come to Ohio to play school. Lol!
Yes, it's a photoshop. The original doesn't have the punctuation that gives it the opposite meaning.
but it's another snippet of evidence that Urban's team in Columbus is going to look like his team in Florida: lots and lots of criminal records
See, hashtags can be fun! Time to start tracking all my bad decisions.
"Should I have a spring green salad for lunch or a meat ball sub? I'll just eat this leftover cake, instead. #DecisionWall"
Water, iced tea, a coke or a beer? I know! Jagerbombs! #DecisionWall" Better yet lets go all Haiku -n- shit.... Water or iced tea? A coke or an ice cold beer? I know, Jagerbombs! #Decisionwall
If you wanted to live on the crazy side of life you would have had the sub.
The worst Pink Floyd album cover ever.
Let's play SCHOOL here:
Urban Meyer Player Arrest Record:
6.666 arrests per year, increase of .46 from old average of 6.2
5.666 Players arrested per year, increase of .666 (ha) from old average of 5
In conclusion: Urban's players somehow managed to raise both of his already staggering average arrests rates.
Time to update Urbz's Team board..
Wow, at this rate, come November, the Buckeyes who aren't wearing black & white horizontal stripes will show up wearing Maize and Blue.
Will Muschamp has some serious pull with local authorities all across the country.
how many Criminology majors there are on the team?
happen, as experience testifies. Meyer had the same thing happen with a bunch of Ron Zook's players. There was a culture of impunity at OSU and Meyer is slowly getting it cleaned up.
Listen, do you think he CONDONES any of this?
But, C'mon, you couldn't write this shit.
Of all the weeks to not get caught doing something minor....
He was in possession of an Ohio Scholarship. That is pretty minor.
And its only 1pm, how many more befre the end of the day?
How long until Meyer is treated for "chest pains" and "dehydration."
guess you could say OSU already got deHYDErated
yet so I don't pin this on urban but he does fit in with his teammates already. good times to come for them.
This is my reaction to the news over the past 24 hours....
"Touche Mr. Meyer, touche."
We're gonna need a bigger sign.
Now just tell me that Braxton Miller has been arrested for running a meth lab out of his basement, and today will be complete.
Methamphetamine is destroying vast cultural swaths of this great nation and I'm sure no buckeye would be a part of it. I'm thinking Braxton's basement operation is limited to 4 or 5 very hot, bright lights with an impressive underlying forest.
Meh, nothing will come out of this. College kids drink. It happens.
Ohio's offseason should be a reality show
It's 11 pm, do you know where your favorite buckeye is?
I told you already, no!
My wifes likes Urban Decay make up, seems like a good product.
Is that an offshoot of the Derelicte line?
they ran out of handcuffs in Columbus
M fm Ohio more than any other single thing I can think of. ^Tressel would have never even been considered for employment in AA due to his NCAA scrapes at YSU. I actually found it worse that he threw his qb under the bus during this investigation and did his often voiced, "first I've heard of it," although he is the one that introduced his qb to the booster. If UM's players were arrested at Fl that is not that big of a deal. However, if he had been found guilty of NCAA violations while there, than he as well would not have been considered. I don't think this is true though because ND came after him hard after leaving the Mormom state. ^It took a hateful, unethical sportswriter(UM alum, no less) to place M on probation and the fact that he was willing to do so just because he hated RR from the get go for his success whereas Rosie hasn't really experienced anything closely related along with his bigotry. That really pisses me off. ^If I were Urb I wouldn't do what the boosters might eventually going to ask him to do. It nearly caused Woody his job, but he took over a struggling program. He would be snatched up in a minute be a high quality university. Such might not be the case if he falls into the trap. It has taken its toll on equally good coaches such as Wilkinson, Switzer, Carroll, et. al. Simply not worth it to me. ^I also believe there is a former M player doing some chit in LA, but until he is caught, I guess we table that discussion.
Hoke left Ball State on probation so your arguement is flawed. Both schools recruit the same players. Get off your high horse.
Did you finally stop pretending to be a Michigan fan? I know it sucks to be an osu fan but you have to be a man and admit it.
So not only have the Vonn Bell rumors been squashed, but now video has come out that refutes Hyde being guilty. Sorry, guys. :(
Were you able to find that link you needed? There's this website called "Yahoo" that you should go and check out, they have some interesting stuff.
So, now that you can't celebrate potentially getting to face the Buckeyes without the best returning RB in the conference, are you gonna find something else to fill your hollow life with?
There but for the grace of Hoke goes Blue.
The real question is: is that more pathetic than creating a profile on your rival's blog?
