Oregon to wear winged helmets (NTWHs) in Rose Bowl
Sure, I'm doing exactly what Phil Knight and the Nike overlords want me to do by drawing attention to their new uniformz, but I am still ANGAR! Now we know how they really swayed Jake Fisher.

I see a 6-fingered glove. Why is it black and white? Trying to confuse the refs? Maybe a good strategy.

If you save the pic to your computer, then rotate it, it actually looks more like a hand print.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:48 PM ^
man princeton is going to be so pissed
December 27th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
You mean the Princeton that used Crisler's winged color scheme helmet for 3 measely years and stopped using it when he left at the end of the 1937 season. Princeton didn't bring it back until 1998.
Yes, they love their winged helmet so much that they didn't use it for 60 seasons while Michigan used it every year.

Wow, sarcasm meter must be WAY on the fritz (no pun intended)....

Assumed you were a troll with your negative 900 something.
December 27th, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
I don't know what I did to deserve the negative 1000 points a while back...I made one bad thread, but jebus give a guy a break. Go Blue
December 27th, 2011 at 2:41 PM ^
we obviously stole them from msu
December 27th, 2011 at 12:57 PM ^
That's a stuipid looking helmet
December 27th, 2011 at 12:58 PM ^
Why is there a hand turkey on the side of the helmet?
December 27th, 2011 at 12:58 PM ^
but I think Oregon will find a way to make this look great. I thought their National Championship jerseys last year were sharp, and they didn't disappoint earlier this season against LSU either.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:13 PM ^
Yeah they only disappointed on the field
December 27th, 2011 at 1:08 PM ^
My initial reaction:
But after seeing them; meh. Let the duckies have their silly helmets. Just don't call them "winged".
December 27th, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
Just being honest.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:15 PM ^
If Oregon wants to do something new, I think that makes sense for them. They don't have an iconic uniform or helmet, so why not switch things up to get attention away from schools like USC and Cal? UM is in a completely different place, and we should stick with our traditions. What's good for Oregon isn't necessarily good for UM. I don't mind them having an oven mit on their helmets--I don't think anyone sober and free from schizophrenia would confuse it with our wings.

Must be nice to have "Mr. Nike" be a Oregon grad. Not to mention Nike's HQ being in Oregon.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
Well something has to be in Oregon besides Cholera , typhoid and dysentry.
December 27th, 2011 at 4:47 PM ^
I drove from Astoria to the Cali line last summer. The coast is spectacular.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
I think it looks terrible. The Oregon "O" is a great logo. I wish they would just design something classy, while keeping the 1,000,000 different color combinations. Making something bold and in your face isn't unique anymore.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:31 PM ^
December 27th, 2011 at 1:33 PM ^
These "wings" remind me more of a tramp stamp on a stripper...

Agree completely.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:38 PM ^
I'm not sure how that helmet is anything like ours, but whatever. The jersey, however, does look like MSU's homage to Colorado St. (with the addition of plastic chunks) that they wore against us. We can only hope that Dave Brandon stops looking to teams like Oregon and Boise St. to tell the future.

Just adding to their legacy of having the best Unis in CFB. That uniform is on point.
December 27th, 2011 at 2:48 PM ^
In all seriousness their uniforms continually look absolutely awesome. Sick fashion in football needs to be done more. schools like Oregon have a tradition - its having Nikes HQ there and always wearing the coolest jerseys. I don't know how you can hate on em
December 27th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
I happen to think those helmets are pretty awesome, although I do question how they knew exactly which Pfaltzgraff carving set I had and why it is on their helmet.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:54 PM ^
Looks more like chrome catchers mit on the side. I never thought those uni's could get much worse, but then again I thought Oregon's green and yellow look couldn't get worse. Thanks Nike!
December 27th, 2011 at 1:57 PM ^
On the plus side, at least they won't look like the Oregon Raiders in the game.
December 27th, 2011 at 2:39 PM ^
I like halo too!
December 27th, 2011 at 2:42 PM ^
I am tired of Oregon and all of the different uniforms they have. Just wear your school colors for once.
December 27th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Oregon and Nike have been doing this long enough now that I bet half the student body doesn't even know what their school colors are.
December 27th, 2011 at 2:43 PM ^
Those look like bicycle helmets. I wouldn't have even noticed the "wings" if someone hadn't called attention to them.
December 27th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
Need some orange feet with that
December 27th, 2011 at 3:06 PM ^
Listen to the money talk
Money talks
Yeah yeah yeah money talks
December 27th, 2011 at 3:15 PM ^
Whether you love or hate the Oregon helmets, it's all a matter of a pinion.
December 27th, 2011 at 5:18 PM ^
you know, without the wings on the helmets, or whatever the hell those things are, those uniforms would actually be pretty badass
December 27th, 2011 at 5:55 PM ^
I actually liked Oregon's uniforms until they decided to add gray and black to everything
December 27th, 2011 at 6:42 PM ^
or else he'll get medieval.....
December 27th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
but they are so sweet it hurts me
December 27th, 2011 at 10:23 PM ^
Those uniforms are awesome... however... I don't understand kids today that they would go to a school (in Eugene Oregon no less...) based strictly on the uni's.

i have no problem reconciling that top quality athletes in an ultra-aggressive sport also want to be Ken dolls.
really.
December 27th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
Are they so innovative that the uni's are teflon-coated? Now *that* would make the uniforms different (and I hope, illegal).

Of all the "sartorially challenged" uniforms Oregon has unleashed in recent years, these are actually pretty cool, IMO. I'd rather see yellow/black than green/black, but that's just me.
Anyway, I hope the plain ol' red/white-clad Badgers roll over them in Pasadena. The Big-10/11/12 needs big bowl victories.
