Opposing Players Who Broke Your Heart

Submitted by UM Indy on

Whose head would you like to grab and shake, like Michael Corleone did to his brother Fredo in The Godfather, Part II, for either a game and/or a career that inflicted emotional distress on you as a Michigan fan?

Several that come to mind for me: Troy Smith, Reggie Ho, Dusty Mangum, Plaxico Burress.

I have the Panthers/Ravens game on in the background, and from out of nowhere I hear Mike Tirico say "Appalachian State."  I look up at the screen and see Armanti Edwards, now playing WR for the Panthers.

My heart sank and I died inside a little more.

gotta be Troy Smith....damn that dude.  Also, not that he really broke michigan fans hearts - but it was always annoying that Juice Williams had career games against Michigan...

Can I ask why Laurence Maroney broke your heart? He only beat Michigan once and didn't have that fantastic of a game and if I recall correctly, wasn't it Gary Russell that broke the long run when they were just trying to get to OT?

ones have been mentioned so I'll switch to basketball.

Back when I was a student:  Bobby Hurley, Shawn Respert, Glen Robinson

And more recently: Blake Griffen and Evan Turner

Kordell Stewart and Michael Westbrook broke my heart.  But from the complete silence of 100,000 fans at The Big House it was obvious I wasn't alone.

And having to listen to the 5000 Colorado fans celebrate (faintly in the opposite corner of the student section, and right where the touchdown occurred) will haunt me forever.
