to watch. Who to root for? I guess it has to be tosu because they will make the tourney while lil bro is on the bubble like us.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:28 PM ^
If MSU pulls a shocker and gets back into the season, we still have that home win against them which'll count for something when the Tourny Comitee is selecting
February 15th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
I'm rooting for meteor.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
Even though Ohio State is a good squad, they aren't particularly fun to watch. I think I'll do something else with my time.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
That why you negged the OP?
February 15th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
Like neg posts for no reason?
February 15th, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
Just my personal opinion, but having an Open Thread for Ohio State-MSU is awfully RCMBish. I always neg posts of this nature.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:44 PM ^
As long as you're consistent.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Neg the OP and then post twice (so far)?
Thats like calling out an ugly chick in front of your friends, and then later banging that same chick twice.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:56 PM ^
That's how you play the game! Ain't nothing wrong with drawing fouls.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:16 PM ^
"Thats like calling out an ugly chick in front of your friends, and then later banging that same chick twice."
Dude, this is the only way I roll.

What's that you say? WHL hockey is on? I'm there.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:46 PM ^
When Kebler and Thornton are on the floor for MSU, they are essentially playing 3-on-5 on offense.
EDIT: Of course as I write this, Kebler and Thornton get consecutive bunnies, and now Kelber hits a J.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:48 PM ^
It reminds me of the legendary "White guys and walk-ons" lineup we used two years ago.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
I will also be rooting for a meteor. However, if I have to root for a team in this game I'm picking MSU because contrary what Tim's rooting guide may advise, MSU is probably our best win and it doesn't help our tourney efforts if the team that our best win came against keeps racking up the losses.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:49 PM ^
Draymond was haning out with Jordan Dumars and some other guys at Bell's Saturday night around 3am. Dude is big. I was heavily intoxicated and felt bad for him because he was pizza-less and offered to buy him a slice but he declined politely.
February 15th, 2011 at 9:53 PM ^
He probably didn't want to risk getting busted for "improper benefits" per some obscure NCAA regulation. Good call if you ask me. That's still cool that you offered to buy him a slice IMO.

End of 1st half, 35-34 Hometown Chlamydia over Visiting VD.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
We need to beat Wisconsin at home. That shores up our main weakness (no real signature victory as defined by the national media). This also helps with SOS and RPI. 3-2 finish would be pretty good if Wisconsin is one of the wins. I'm really amped for the Illinois game tomorrow.

5: Over under for how many Big East teams lose in the first weekend of the Tourney if the league gets in 10 teams.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:47 PM ^
That would mean five teams in the Sweet Sixteen
February 15th, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
Good game so far.
I thought after the last game that a sleeping giant had been woken (in Sparty). Looks like I was onto something.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:21 PM ^
Best case = MSU 12 point win and somehow all starters on both teams get mono.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:28 PM ^
February 15th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
I've resigned myself to OSU being good this year, so any more turmoil that can be piled on MSU is ok in my book.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:29 PM ^
This a no-win scenario as a Michigan fan, but I would like to see Izzo miss the tourney for once. TOSU is a lock already, so not a big deal if they drop this one. Gotta respect Craft's game. Kid plays really hard on D and kind of reminds me of Novak in a less gritty, hairy kind of way.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:38 PM ^
I would looooooooooove to see Sparty playing in the NIT.
I'm enjoying all these losses but I still feel our game against them at Crisler is going to be a dog fight.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:34 PM ^
and I like to puff out my lower lip after I make a shot.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:36 PM ^
Shades of Kobe, with less skill.

Musberger makes bad situations worse. Mute is my friend.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:44 PM ^
is one of the smartest and most fundamentally sound basketball players I've ever seen in the NCAA. And that pisses me off.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:49 PM ^
Gameday is going to East Lansing on Saturday? For a 14-11 team against a 16-10 team?
Surely there's a better game than that.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:03 PM ^
Gameday for basketball is picked before the season starts, not during like in football. Considering MSU's preseason ranking, it is kind of understandable.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:07 PM ^
+1 for the proper rendering of Illinois's record.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
It really is a huge leap when you break 10 losses, isn't it? Way bigger than 9 losses psychologically.
February 15th, 2011 at 10:56 PM ^
About time Green got T'd up. He was mouthing off at the officials all game against us and they let it go.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:14 PM ^
Both Dick and Brent are fully convinced that Sparty makes the tournament because of their strength of schedule? So a current record of 14-11 assures you a tourney bid just because of your schedule...interesting.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:34 PM ^
Yeah, I sorta figure you have to win the games in order to brag about your strength of schedule, but what do I know?
Still, a 9-9 MSU team gets in because MSU is the vampire that won't die.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
It is Freep math. You need to LOSE these games so that it makes those other teams look better!!
February 15th, 2011 at 11:26 PM ^
Big Ten Standings as of 11:26 p.m. 2/15/11:
5. Michigan: 16-10 (6-7)
7. Michigan State: 14-11 (6-7)
February 15th, 2011 at 11:37 PM ^
The "Big Ten basketball is boring and ugly" meme always annoys the crap out of me, and it's even more annoying when the meme's proponents have a game like that for ammo. Glad I didn't decide to play the "MSU Turnover" drinking game. LIVER ASPLODE.
February 15th, 2011 at 11:41 PM ^
