Hypercool vs. Lunarbeast. Who makes up these team names?
From Sam Webb's tweets, it appears McCaffrey and Team Hypercool (Michigan commits and targets) has won at least 2 of their 7-on-7 games.
This is of note as I saw an earlier story online (scout? 247?) that noted 6 of the 8 teams received at least one vote to win it all from their "experts". One of the two to not receive a vote was M's team.
...to Josh Falo with no time left on the clock.
Here are some notes on the Opening rosters, which team you should be rooting for, etc.:
Is DPJ even playing? (I know he skipped the SPARQ due to injury.)
From what I'm watching on ESPN right now he's dressed in street clothes so no.
long pass for a TD
and the 1 pt conversion
I'm guessing D Mc starts the 2nd half.
Nope. DMC threw a 70-TD TD

The game I'm watching has a score of 12-7, Lunar Beast over Hypercool. Myles Brennan started the 1st half and D Mc the 2nd.
Edit: there goes the TD! Must've been behind you guys.
Keep watching. The last drive is impressive.

D Mc threaded the ball between 2 defenders for the game winner! Harbaugh is smart by taking a stud QB each cycle.
Re: Josh Falo.
Do want. Big target that glides across the field and snags the ball.
The current game on ESPN has already been played, I am pretty sure. This is the game of Falo's last second TD grab, I think
DPJ did plan on playing but he is being careful with his hammy. His mother is even there so he would play if he could.
Deandre Swift has an impressive lower body. Legs are huge.
Its kinda crazy how Pennsylvania has a top back every year for the last 3 years. Saquan Barkley, Miles Sanders, and now D'Andre Swift. Hope Swift doesn't go to Penn State
Pennsylvania is historically about as strong a football state as Ohio. Slightly lower maybe.
I was thinking the same thing!

Ross is going to be a great ILB. He's already got good thickness/muscle and he can move.
Wish I could see him hit tonight.
Damn - that was a helluvan accurate pass by McCaffrey
Mccaffery has been impressive.

Who was #57 who flashed an M?
Herbert

It's not worth a new thread, but Jordan Reid committed to MSU and Grant Delpit committed to LSU.

Are there any safeties that we're actually on (besides JKP)?
Markquese Bell.

How did you feel about Reid?

Would rather have Stueber, Herbert or Wilson as my tackles. Wish we could have gotten Delpit as we need to get acquiring guys with athleticism to play against the spread but that's why we have Woods and eventually, hopefully JKP.
I like all of our current commits better than Reid. Not a big fan.

What's with CMH and that kid that does the edits hinting that we got or are getting a commit here soon? Anyone know who it could be if true? My guess would be JKP just because I think he's the closest to committing. Then again, Nico Collins did actually name UM his leader again.
Last I saw they said it will happen after the opening. Supposedly during the week.
Cool. Thanks!
I'm unfamiliar with the 7-on-7 circuit either way. Do these guys pick each other out to stack teams? Does ESPN invite guys for this thing and pick the teams?
Nike picks the attendees and puts the teams together. That is why one team is basically all M targets and commits while 2 others are OSU heavy. I hate to be cynical, but I doubt this would have happened if M has re-upped with Adidas.
Be playing anymore tonight? I didn't get to see any till now. Did McCaffrey tear it up and look like a Harbaugh recruit?
He hit a streaking receiver down the sideline in stride without the WR stopping for like a 60 yd TD. He also had a GW TD to Josh Falo with no time left. He had a good day. Also connected with Collins a few times.
But does he have a big time arm like a Henne or just a meh one like a Speight?
He doesn't rocket the ball like Henne could but it's a better arm than Speight. He should be a fine QB but is not some phenom "start next year" type.
Tate Martell is short and has a slow release.
Looks like crap from what I'm watching too.
I doubt he ever starts at OSU. They'll have better talent.
Haskins, the QB they got last year looks a lot more dangerous than Martell

Oh man--I'd forgotten that Haskins dumped Maryland for OSU.
Agreed
Urban Meyer isn't known for taking smooth looking quarterbacks. He's just known for winning with the rough looking ones.

But he does it by having a lot of other piece parts on which to rely.
I guy like Martell is going to throw a lot of INT's IMO. As long as UM has the right athletes at LB and in the secondary so he can't dink and dunk us to death I'd like our chances against him.
It's rare that 5'10" QB's amount to much at the top of the D1 pyramid.
if you're talking about him or thinking instead about Russell Wilson.
Ya they're definitely the rule and not the exceptions
