Open Thread/DVR Reminder: Michigan basketball @ Iowa 1:00 Big Ten Network
Men's basketball tips off against Iowa at 1:00 today on the B1G network. Michigan has the better team, but that has been the case for several years, and Iowa has been pesky. He also points out that Iowa barely shoots from downtown at all...I'm thinking woot 1-3-1?

My personal take: Iowa has serious Multiple Personality Disorder, as evidenced by their Wisky/Minny road wins vs their baby seal impersonation against those two SU schools who celebrated when Nebraska joined the conference(because they finally have a school to look down on).
That red-headed kid Aaron White is pretty good, and Basabe is still there, but I dont really think either one is ready to keep up with Novak, the Notorious SMOTRYCZ or Morgan. If Stu can slow down Matt Gatens(and all evidence suggest he WILL be able to) I like Michigan's chances.

I completely disagree. He rarely makes his baskets and I'd rather have Stu out there (though Stu loves to jack it up, he makes a decent amount of them). He gives a slight rebound advantage but that's it.

I think you are wrong in regards to this game, and it appears Belien does as well. Also, it is not a question of Vogrich or Stu, there are other options. Vogrich is a having a positive impact in a today.

There's something really weird about this team. I can't pinpoint specifically what makes them play so bad (probably several things) but I know that when they're at their best they can play with anyone. How often do they play at their best though? 30 percent of the time? 20? They get down big in every single game.

What makes them play so fucking bad is they have no inside game.. no one fuckin drives.. and they suck at shooting 3's every other game..
If we can't make three's we lose the game period. Just about every other time morgan or smotz get it down low they turn it over 50% of the time anyway

Morgan is tired, couldn't get back on D and Basabe gets a layup. 4 point swing. If Hardaway makes his layup, then Morgan would have been able to get back.

Smotz last good game was against PSU. He has played awful since starting the B10 season. Hardaway still ice cold from 3. Not looking tough with MSU coming up.

Assuming we lose (which looks very likely), this could be a wake up call to the team. They will need one if they want to beat MSU, which becomes an even more important game now.
