Open Thread: Michigan vs. Bama

I think Michigan bounces back in a big way in this one. Hopefully JB lit a fire under Peedi's ass and he will dominate inside. This would be a big boost heading into the B10 challenge and I think a solid win here keeps us in the top 25. Prediction: M 72, A 60 Thoughts on the game? Do tell.

tough to tell how good this new alabama team is under anthony grant. but it would be a nice confidence boost early in the season to atleast beat a big name

I hate to say it, but this game is going to be a bloodbath. Bama's strength is it's defense, and I don't see a freshman QB handling the pressure. Also, Ingram is a beast...he's going to kill our linebackers. Also, there's no way we'll be able to handle Mount Cody. A big test for RichRod against Saban....but I like our chances better against a team like this in 2010 or 2011. Michigan Vs. Bama...chalk this one up to an L, but once RichRod gets his pieces in line, watch out Nikki Satan.

I really think the Marquette game was just a tune up game - we hadn't played meaningful basketball in a while (prior to Creighton at lease) and it showed. I think we take this one pretty easily...and start to see improvement from our team from here on out. Player roles begin to define themselves and we start to see that this team deserved the #15 pre season ranking, if not better. Marquette and Creighton were an abberation..while both teams are better than advertised, I think we just weren't ready for them and will be up to full speed very shortly.

but that game worries me. The problem with Marquette was how much quicker they were than us. We are undersized, which isn't an issue if you have superior quickness (ala Marquette), but at most positions we don't. Guys like Novack are actually worse against smaller teams that are so much quicker than them. If a guy is big Novack can at least try to neutralize it with grit and hustle, not to mention he draws a big body away from the basket with his shooting. But against a four guard team Novack's value goes down substantially and I think JB needs to either go with size or someone else who is at least quicker.

The Marquette game was disappointing but I think we will bounce back and win big.Alabama is not that good.Manny will have a great great game and Novak will too.BIG BLUE WINS BIG!!! GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sims needs to stop staring at officials/bench every time he screws up or misses a basket as if it's someone else's fault. he's done it every time he's missed an open bucket or a blown shot and it's getting tired.

Hate to say it, but our team really is not that good unless we are shooting the 3 ball well. Manny has been our only consistent source of points. Everyone else is shooting like crap, and Deshawn hasn't been nearly enough of a factor. Gotta get him the ball on the block more often.
