Open Thread: Michigan @ Indiana

Big game to see where we are at this early in the season. Change the channel from this miserable UA All American Game.

The guy has been the worst official in college basketball for as long as I can remember.  If this game is called even Michigan has 5-7 more possessions, Novak plays 10 more minutes, and Michigan wins by 10 points.  Still proud of how the guys played.

would have helped quite a bit in this game. He could have guarded Zeller and allowed Smotrycz to guard Watford. Nevertheless, Morgan did do a nice job guarding Zeller in the second half. It would have been nice to have another big who can play solid D.

I just left the game. No way that was a travel. Most refs leave the game to the players to resolve the end result. Sad call. Real proud of all the players though... They fought hard! An IU fan next to me said they were playing like shit which I feel was false. I kindly told him that Michigan are some of the scrappiest players you'll see and I also said that they (IU) was not playing out of their minds. Indiana played a good game... So did we.

Two things stuck out to me.

1. Burke shits the bed at the line too often. 0-3 is unacceptable. Outside of that, he played ok. He just needs to calm down.

2. Hardaway had the biggest ice-cold "fuck me" game from 3pt land. 0-7?! Even McLimans made a 3 pointer! His shot selection behind the arc was juvenile, at best. The announcer actually got it right when he said "Hardaway isn't trusting his teammates..." Those teammates went 10/17 from the arc (59%!) and he kept tossing prayers like a middle-school spoiled brat whose dad coaches the team. Love ya, Timmy, but when others are draining them, pass the damn ball!

That is all. Sorry for the cursing, but I'm pissed we lost because we outplayed Indiana in so many facets of the game.

Sorry, a bit late to the party, but I'm assuming I feel about the same as everyone else here. This one really hurts, as it would have been nice to send Zack and Stu off finally getting that victory so close to home. I too thought the officiating was pretty suspect and cost us a lot of possessions. The positive take away here is that we played with, and probably should have defeated, a legitimate top-ten team tonight with THJ and Trey playing horribly.

The team needs to take care of Wisconsin on Sunday; we owe them one.

Go Blue.

As long as the team can win most of it's home games against the top 5 B1G we should be in good shape. We should win against IU and MSU at home!  OSU may be tough...but who knows this Michigan team will continue to improve as the B1G season progresses!

Considering Timmy and Burke played poorly yesterday and we still had a chance to go ahead late gives me a lot of hope for the year.  IU is a good team and Bloomington is a really difficult place to play.  I can't blame the refs, they did not cost us the game.  We came out a little flat and Their defense was in our face a lot of the night.  I have high hopes for our team and I think the next few years are going to see some great  games between these two teams.  Both teams are having great recruiting years.
