Open Thread: Michigan @ Indiana

Big game to see where we are at this early in the season. Change the channel from this miserable UA All American Game.

Well after trailing by 20 in the first half a 2 point loss is OK. I feel like there were a bunch of calls that went IU's way. Oh well 2 point loss to a higher ranked team on the road shouldnt hurt to bad. Proud of the way the boys fought back in this one.

Trey dealt with some freshman struggles and when hardaway gets his shot back he hits those before the minute mark, about encouraging as a lose will be.

Wins like what we could have had tonight are what get teams off the bubble and into lock status. Oh well, looks like it is another year of "Bubble Watch" for ol' Blue. And I hate the bubble.

Ummm... Pretty sure we're not going to have to worry about the bubble this year. You do realize that Indiana is 14-1 and has beaten both Kentucky and OSU, right? The #1 and #2 teams in the nation at the time

I'm not saying that this loss will look bad on our resume. Far from it. I'm just saying that it would have been a great win that would have gone a long way from locking up a tourney bid. I just want to be one of those teams that gets to play out the last couple of weeks jockeying for seeding rather than trying to bolster the resume for a bid, and a win tonight would have been a big step in that direction. Oh well, it's over. Now it's time to focus on Beating the Badgers!

I see no reason to be greatly dissappointed with the loss...

Your top scorer goes 0-7 from the 3, your pg plays probably the worst game of his career, and you come within a fg of beating a top 15 team on the road in a very hostile enviroment.

Go Blue!

We really have to start pulling out a win during these close games against good teams, we always come up a few points short

but seriously where did THJ's three point shot go?

to get THJ off the bus in the first half. His lack of efficiency is killing us in big games. Come on THJ! You're so much better than these guys checking you on D!!!! Disregard my statement an hour ago about losing faith. I believe in you man!!!!!!

Damn.  Hell of an effort just to get back into this one, and damn near stole a victory from the Indiana Referees, I mean Hoosiers.  Michigan has a ton of heart and just needs a little more seasoning and more consistency out of THJ.

P.S. Someone needs to tell Tom Crean to get a real haircut.  I'm sure the 6th grade was great for ol' Tommy but it's time to get an adult haircut.

showed a lot of promise. Burke and most of the team (except Hardaway) slowed down and ran the offese nicely. The defese wasn't too bad either. If we can play that way all game we can play with anybody.

a lot more of a threat than people are giving us credit for. That 3 was huge but came at a moment where we needed it then but also when we needed it earlier. We couldn't shut down Wofford at all. Is it Wattford or Wofford? Anyways tough loss but so far we look like a good team and a legitimate contender. Just need to keep winning! Go Blue!

This game is a game where McGary would have made a huge difference, his relentless effort on the boards could have proved the difference. M missed 30 field goals today but came up with just 6 offensive rebounds, 4 of those from Burke

Michigan with Belien is going to be scary to deal with with the uptick in athleticism that is coming our way. Hardaway, Burke, McGary, Glen Robinson III, will all be players capable of making something out of nothing.

to actually have a fighting chance at the end after it looked like they were about to blow the top off Assembly Hall. I would be surprised if IU loses at home this year.

Close losses are always tough, but they didn't quit and  IU got some calls and made some ridiculous shots.

But that was the toughest venue they'll play in all year and one of the toughest teams they'll play plays there. Tough to get too upset about this one.

Does anyone feel Novak could have gotten that ball up to about 6 ft from the three point line, well within his range?  He shot with about 1.7 seconds left from halfcourt.  Trey Burke did the same at the end of the first half.  Maybe we need to work on our mental clocks in practice.
