Open BCS Championship Bowl Game Thread

Will Texas pull another big upset in the biggest game (please please please)? Will the great Satan win his 2nd at his 2nd SEC school? How glad are we that we're done with Fox? And will Denise from Taco Bell join us on ABC? All these questions and more will be answered during tonight's game. Here's to us not watching the game and commenting on it here in the near future because we're all AT the game, watching a much more likable team. :-)

This Gilbert kid isn't terrible, considering he's a freshman coming in off the bench. He's getting no help from his WRs. Gilbert could definitely use some mechanics work, but his WRs need to be bringing some of these passes down.

But then you get successful in Hollywood and you no longer have to share a can of tuna fish with your six roommates and four cats. It's called success--and it means the table by the window at Poulet du Sucrose 'n Lamb Flambet and chicks that'll suck your cock no matter what you look like. Exercise? Fuck that. What self respecting bimbo in Hollywood gives a shit what you look like once you are pulling down $10 Million per bomb?

McCoy may or may not be the most outstanding player this year (Heisman), but no one is more valuable to his team. The Texas defense isn't playing poorly, but they can't do anything with a true freshman playing against an excellent defense with five weeks to prepare.

not sure if this has been mentioned (im not reading thru 250+ posts), but this game really reminds me of the michigan-osu game a few years back when chad henne had his arm immobilized by the needle of death. i think it was '07. osu got ahead early, and then just ran down the clock. of course texas is doing a bit more on offense here, but not by much. edit: and just as i post that - texas scores.

Well Shipley has ensured he won't end up in a shallow grave outside of Austin. So I guess he has that going for him now. Maybe Texas can make a game out of it. Or else 'Bama will put the pedal back down on offense.

Love that call. Gilbert finally stepped into a throw and then Brown makes a ballsy call. The only Texas game I ever went to was the huge Vince Young comeback against OK State. Never felt a stadium more alive.

Sadly the only game I have seen with Texas was @ the Rose Bowl when they beat us. I can still imagine the ball making it over the cross bar in slow motion. Walking back to the golf course was miserable with Texas fans singing that dumb railroad song.

But I must say Texas fans were the nicest bowl game opposing fans I've been around. We didn't blow the game or get screwed; they just had the ball last. Texas was up there with the likes of Penn State and Nebraska as programs I could root for, before circumstances changed that. College Football: wait long enough, and it'll make you hate every other team. But the Burnt Orange is cool. Whenever you can take a color combo, and they think of you first... (like Maize and Blue :-)
