ONE Bold Prediction for 2015?

Submitted by jonesie022 on
With the new era being ushered in and good times ahead, I thought I would gauge the pulse of the UM fan base in terms of this upcoming season. What is one "out of the box" or bold prediction you have? I'll get it started: The starting QB for this upcoming fall is NOT currently on the UM roster. You?

JH will sit those kids down and (actually) motivate them in practice well before games start in the fall.

We HAVE talent. No question in my mind. These are emotional 18-22 year olds and last year spiraled out of control as everyone knows.

We just traded Brady Hoke for Jim Harbaugh. Let THAT sink in. The game done changed.

Here i go, Hoke came in and it brought a new energy it created a urgency for the kids to prove themselves and keep their spots on the team..result 11-2 and bowl win..After that i feel like comfort set in and Hoke does not have the personality to keep the fire lit...Some of the upperclassmen were givin the benefit of doubt and played maybe more than they should have over younger players and some younger players were brought along slower than they should have due to older players being slotted in.

Now all those kids are going to have to prove they belong again, it lights the competitive fires...Add they fact the JH is intense and pushes people to go 100% and i think we are going to see a good jump again

I predict Speight wins QB competition due to his accuracy and calmness in the pocket

Ty Isaac explodes on the scene and is huge catching the ball out of backfield

Peppers comes back and in who we thought he was

Bryan Mone is All American

Win double digit games under new coach AGAIN

Saban was 6-6 in his first year at Alabama before they really started destroying folks. It may take some time to get the kinks worked out. It's not like the current guys on the roster have been coached the last 4 years. For whatever reason the only players that understood what the coaches were saying since 2011 were walk-ons. I Personally think we will have a good enough season to be over .500 and I hope to make a bowl game as the practices will actually mean something again

Oklahoma had seven bad seasons, similar to Michigan, in the years prior to Stoops showing up.  His first year they were 7-4 and then a bowl loss.  The very next year they went 13-0 with an Orange Bowl victory overy FSU for the MNC.  Am I saying that Michigan will win the NC in 2016?  No, but I do think 2015 will more closely resemble 2011 than 2014.

not saying i want this but i mostly feel this way so i dont lose trust in Harbaugh if it happens. I have yet to see Morris look like he can lead the team and @Utah with Morris possibly being the man doesnt sound like a win. BYU has a 5th year possible heismen candidate at qb also. Oregon State is a complete unkown, we either stomp them or they hang and sneak out a win imo. Hope im wrong but I feel comfy not having over the top expectations. This past year was the first time ever, i record most games and watch latef, that ive given up on watching a few games because they were unbearable. Harbaugh must get the "its ok to lose" attitude that Hoke had out of these kids.

Thinking that Shane will start and lose that many games implies to me that we don't trust Coach Harbaugh to a) properly evaluate the quarterbacks during practices and/or b) bench someone who isn't working out. I believe he can and will do both of those things.

it's either Morris or an inexperienced QB at Utah, i think Morris is a given. It's easy to be a superstar in practice and flop in a game environment. We should beat Unlv, Oregon state I think of asa Maryland/Rutgers like team that is in the middle to back of the conference that you should beat but they can squeak out a surprise win here and there. BYU i think will be the back breaker for morris and if we are 1-2 going in and losing harbaugh tries someone new if we are losing big in that game....... Totally going off feeling, im no scout/coach or nothing so dont worry im usually wrong. Just a "upper class walmart fan".

Feelingsball ended around here. We have better talent than every team on our schedule except perhaps MSU and OSU, about the same as PSU. We now have - or will soon have - a coaching staff that will have them at least playing as well their talent suggests and will not make boneheaded coaching decisions. That's not saying they won't drop a game or two that they should have won, but they will win a minimum of seven or eight games.

This is college football where players only have 4 years of eligibility. Many, many schools roll out inexperienced QBs every year and win.

Our coach is arguably the best in college football and his specialty is Quarterbacking. I'm not concerned whatsoever.

I think Malzone could be another Chad Henne, in terms of being ready to play, espeically because he'll have experience people around him helping him out. I'm not sure he will have a Braylon Edwards, but he'll have some guys.

work ethic to play for Jim Harbaugh. There is plenty of talent on this team and nothing that good coaching can't cure. If our QB situation develops quick enough we should win 8-10 games.

I think this is just a natural reaction based on past experiences. You are bracing yourself for yet another poor M team. I think this viewpoint is worst case scenario and unlikely to happen. I know that most around here are down on our QBs, but I think we are drastic improvement in that department.

Eff that. I'm tired of the self-handicapping Michigan football. The wait til next year Michigan football. Oregon State, Utah, BYU, those programs don't have a single player that would've made our recruiting classes. We're Michigan. We have better players. Now we have better coaches. Kill 'em all.

but losing to Oregon State at home would be... ugh. They're in the middle of a regime change too remember. With probably less talent on their roster. Could come down to the QB situation I suppose...

But the OP asked for bold and you gave him bold.

after a series of voluntary, yet mysterious injections; Shane Morris begins to display an increasing amount of Harbaugh-like behaviors and physical manerisms.
A squaring jaw, penetrating stares.  Hand crushing, backslapping, general jackhammering-ness, culminating with an OSU-win-guarantee that is backed up on the field.

JH did his share of leading cheers at Stanford, I'm sure he'll continue to do so.  The guy is intense and wears his emotions openly.  I guarantee he'll let the players know he's proud of them when they perform to his satisfaction.
