This was almost exactly what I expected him to run, which was a 4.58 or a 4.59. He has decent football speed, but he's not a blazer. It's telling that he's been talking so much about playing safety lately; it's probably something that teams have brought up to him.

Mays is basically a faster version of Ernest Shazor. When he shows up at the right spot he usually crushes people, but he is frequently out of position. He also tends to go for kill shots every time instead of playing the ball.

How many others think that Mays's blazing speed will allow him to make as many tackles from behind as he makes head-on? As previously stated, the man tends to end up like the innocent bystander - wrong place, wrong time.

Stanford put 55 up on USC, mostly by running between the tackles, and often by running over Mays. His read/react was sloooow -- especially for the fastest guy on the field.
