Ole Miss being investigated by NCAA

Submitted by Amaizing Blue on

Can't link from phone, but the player who was involved in the domestic violence case with his stepfather is alleged by said stepfather to have had his transcript falsified and gotten money and gifts from both the University and agents.  I for one will be SHOCKED if any of this is true.  (Insert Treadwell/bagman/Hugh Freese joke here.). Granted the stepfather has a good reason to make player look bad, but it rings absolutely true to me.

Gonna talk about two schools that combined have not lost as many games in the last 3 years as Michigan has lost just last season? The only difference between Alabama and OSU compared to UM is that they are winners, and UM is not winners, whinners yes, but not winners. Next time you should trash some schools that have not wiped their ass with UM last time they played, or the time before that, or before that, or before that, or before that.............

Ole Miss no doubt is buying players, but that's not why the players didn't choose UM. They didn't Choose UM cause they don't want to lose every other game. This is why Guys like Tredwell and Hand didn't end up at UM. Not the money. It was the suck.

i don't get why when referring to schools that cheat you guys all of a sudden get amnesia? for m fans to criticize  other schools for past transgressions is hypocritical at best. i mean the fab5 fiasco was right up there with Jerry Tarkanian and UNLV. one of the biggest ncaa scandals in history yet you guys act like um has never been caught cheating. Why is that?

Is anyone honestly surprised? I mean Ole Miss was a tire fire joke of a program all of 3 years ago. Then Hugh Freeze shows up and all of a sudden every top recruit under the sun wants to commit to Ole Miss. It's not like Ole Miss is a blue blood program or that Hugh Freeze was a Nick Saban/Urban Meyer type.

This was just a matter of time. The only real question is whether or not the NCAA will actually do anything about it. My gut says no.

UofM sits at number 6 currently if they land the kids they are projected to land they will be in the top 5ish. But keep trying Buckeye slappy.

before i get banned i would like an answer on why m fans conveniently forget about the Fab 5 scandal when criticizing other schools for supposedly cheating? You guys croticize other schools as if um would never bend the rules a little like when richrod got nailed for  LOIC. had they came clean in the beginning probably nothing happens. the cover up is what gets you everytime.

i'm just surprised that this board is so quick to bash other schools as if um has clean hands.

Ole Miss could sign players to guaranteed money contracts on NSD on live television, and give them dollar sign stickers for their helmets when they make big plays. They would lose about five scholarships spread over a few years as a result. NCAA=Joke City.

Honestly, I can't imagine why. So a middling to average school suddenly becomes a powerhouse overnight and lands a bunch of the countries top prospects *shrugs* happens all the time! (when schools decide to cheat their dirty asses off left and right)
