Old Time Rock and Roll
I have always been completely in Brian's camp of hating the piped in music at Michigan Stadium. But, I was mowing my lawn today with my ipod on shuffle and Old Time Rock and Roll came on. I couldn't help but laugh thinking of how out of place and odd it was last year when they played that between the third and fourth quarters at I think every game. Really, they don't even play the piano intro. It's just silent, and suddenly you hear, "Just take those old records off the shelf..." really, really loud. Anyway, the more I thought about it, the more I kept chuckling and it got me to thinking that maybe it's so ridiculous that it's kind of cool and they should keep doing it. Maybe it's a mind game to get the other team thinking, "what the hell is this?" Anyway, just saying, I think I like Old Time Rock and Roll...
You must love wedding receptions.
Especially if he's got that "Keepin you forever and for always" song by Shania Twain on his iPod too.* Jesus fuck ... I worked one summer at a banquet hall and let's just say there are a lot of typical wedding songs that WILL NOT be welcome at my wedding next year.
*To the OP: I'm not implying that you do -- just using it as an example.
Bob Seger and there is some loyalty to the guy in AA for a reason.
He grew up in AA and worked in a bike shop on North U. when he was in high school and shortly thereafter.
I'm sure he was awesome at greasing chains and whatnot but didn't Madonna actually go to U-M and work at an ice cream shop on South U? Maybe they should pipe in Express Yourself between the third and fourth quarters.
just soothes the soul!
Bob Seger and Journey being piped in sickens me every time
the band takes care of the rock when they cover Zeppelin and Sabbath. (obviously Seger and Journey don't come remotely close to comparing)
Too bad they couldn't pipe in some Steel Panther.
i am fine with piped in music as long as it is Eminem or the white stripes. Save Journey for Joe Louis Arena.
i like Hollywood Nights and Turn the Page much better. also against the wind.
old time rock n roll is for moms, old moms.
to tht old time r & r.
