There are two things that I like to do in the week leading up to a big game: watch at least one classic game against the same opponent on dvd during the week, and read an old mgoblog post recapping a game against the opponent.
This week, both are the 05 game of course. In case you haven't read the New Math in a while (or ever!), here's Brian's summary of the game: The New Math
Watching the 4th quarter of that game still gives me chills... and so does that post. What a classic ending.

That was the game...
....that turned me from someone standing behind the couch at the end of the game saying "cmon kid it's time to go to dinner dammit" into someone saying, as Brian put it "Wooo" and then possibly "Hooo."
That was the play that got me to ask forgiveness rather than permission to write a check for season tickets, and watch each-and-every-down of every game since with my football-crazed son.

One of the best thing about the internets is going back and reading what people were feeling at the time. This post is timeless. Contrast that w/ the comments on that post where someone was lamenting that he didn't want Jamar Hornsby to to know about this new math. Whoops.
celebration
I love watching that play and seeing the new math just keep running like he can't believe what just happened. Just a phenomenal moment. And the throw from Henne was just a frozen rope - Henne at his robotic best.
When I see him running around
When I see him running around after the TD, I remember Breaston saying something in the post-game presser about how he didn't realize how fast Manningham was until he tried catching him to celebrate with him, and he couldn't catch up.
I miss Breaston
Everytime I watch old M highlights it makes me wish Breaston was still here returning kicks.
