Old-Fashioned UoOS Fight Song Parody

I have a recording of a parody of University of Ohio State's fight song from the 1970s (I think) that Michigan radio stations used to play. It is awesome. "Husband-hunting dames" is a wonderful insult. Enjoy: http://www.jbrons.com/liquidateohiostate.mp3 If anyone has more info on this - origin, singers, year, etc., - it would be appreciated. Or if you have an original recording without the "Tressel" dub. EDIT: I see Spawn of Mzone also posted this last year, but this is a better quality recording.

This was from the original Dick Purtan show in the 1980s. I'm barely old enough to remember it, but, alas, I do remember it. In fact, I believe it was unveiled the week of the 1986 Harbaugh guarantee game. (I could be wrong. It could be older than that, but I really remember it then. That's the time when I really became interested in college football and for some reason, I still remember it from that year and that incredible game.)

I can remember enjoying this parody in Jr. High in the late 70's and early 80's.  I lived in an area of Ohio where I got Detroit, Toledo, and Cleveland radio stations.  I know it was a Detroit station but I couldn't say which one for sure.  Maybe WLLZ?  I reveled in this song and tried hard to inflict it on as many Ohio State fans as a kid could.  I know I heard it before '86 but I can't remember the exact year.  I would love to have a copy even now!

Thank you for having this available.  I just adored Dick Purtan and his prank phone calls and parodies.  It is from the early 70's when Woody Hayes was OSU's coach.

It was written so MI fans could "sing along" when OSU's fight song was played.

The phrase "turn the Buckeyes loose" started out as "humble Woody Hayes", but of course that needed to be updated.
