Ojemudia suspended for first half of playoff game

It says he is suspended because he wore shoulder pads in a photo during the dead period. This seems kind of stupid.

IF true, I wonder if BR was expecting Mario to get suspended an entire game. I can see MHSAA seeing it for what it is, knowing they have to do something since it was brought to their attention, and kind of sticking it to BR by suspending him for just a half. (There, we punished him. Happy?)

Now Herrington gets to use this as a motivational tactic for his entire team (I doubt he'll pass on the opportunity, whether BR was behind this or not) and Mario gets unleashed on some poor sap in the 2nd half.

If that scenario is true, not well played by BR, in my opinion. Pure speculation, I know. But the timing does lend itself to such thoughts.

My view of Brother Rice sportsdom is quite low anyway, as their fans were complete jackasses at the state hockey championship game earlier this year, where *ahem* my alma mater beat them to take the state title.

No white after Labor Day and no shoulder pads after Memorial Day. Particularly with those jackets where you pull the sleeves up on your forearms. Way too Breakfast Club.

Glad the adults have such important things to do.

Something shady is going on. Brother Rice trying to get an edge?

"Herrington questioned the timing of the suspension. He said an anonymous source informed MHSAA administrators of the violation by sending them a photo.

Herrington said MHSAA assistant director Nate Hampton told him that the MHSAA received photos, in August, of other players who violated this rule. Those suspensions were assessed then, and those players were prevented from participating in preseason scrimmages, Herrington said."

Not to play devil's advocate since it's a shitty rule, but maybe FHH should have self-reported in the preseason and gotten it over with.  Pretty bush league move by BR.

absolute garbage suspension. BR definitely behind it. i live about a mile away from harrison have been going to all home games for years  and i'll be at this weeks game as well. it hurts to lose mario for a half but harrison is gonna roll BR anyway. second straight undefeated season and state championship for these kids. also on a side note john herrington is an absolute class act of a coach and runs a great program there.
