Yes you read that title correctly.  A turkey vulture flew into his windshield and knocked him unconscious.  Thankfully his friend was able to safely bring the car to a stop.  Annoying as he may be during games, we should all be glad that his friend was there and that he is now safe and sound.

Weird. Just last weekend I had a turkey (not a vulture) fly into my truck's windshield. It didn't break the glass but left a big mark made of fine scratches. My question is: what part of the turkey is hard enough to scratch glass?

Side note: I've been to central ohio quite a bit and there are tons of vultures. The things are everywhere.

Why do I have an interest, you ask? Well there is a flock of about 30 TV's that hang out on the roof of the clubhouse directly across the street from my house. They are gigantic and a bit unnerving given my two daughters under 3 years old...

Can you legally shoot them/kill them?

Can you eat them? I'm a damn good cook and I've wondered if picking these monsters off one by one could reduce my grocery bill.... Anybody ever had one?

Buck i Guy and Big Nuts sat one section over from me at last year's Ohio game.  Frankly, they were nice guys.  Said only positive things about their team, not obnoxious (other than the way they are dressed) and gladly posed for several pictures with Michigan fans.  They add "flavor" to the rivalry, and I was relieved to find them personable and respectful of Michigan.  They were definitely the most "positive" Buckeyes around us that day.

Given the nature of the accident, he'd better stay far away from Hinckley, Ohio and its yearly gathering of buzzards. Best wishes to him and hope he gets well soon.

I try not to laugh at people being seriously injured, but that was a funny, funny thread title.

There is a big flock of Turkey Vultures in Ann Arbor that hang out near one of the gravel pits near Scio Church and Zeeb.  Look up in the sky anytime you are over that way and you are likely to see several soaring about.  Anyone who lives over there can share tales of their encounters with them.  Apparently turkey vultures enjoy landing on people's decks and expelling their freakish antibacterial feces.  Good times.

I live in Columbus, and as annoying as he can be at games, he is a good guy(minus the buckeye thing.)  I met him a couple times, and he is just a regular guy with a lot of passion for his team.  Like other posters have said, he will now be able to see more Wolverine victories over OSU in the future.

But as other posters have reported, he actually is hilarious -- and an all-around decent guy.  I asked to get my picture taken with us high-fiving, and he responded, "I ain't high-fiving no Michigan dude..." which you gotta respect :-)

So we decided to stick our fists out in what looks to be a very uncomfortable interaction.

So this douche got hit. In the face. By a large bird. THROUGH HIS WINDSHIELD.

All my friends that are buckeye fans say he is a dick. None of them like him but either way I hope he is OK. My cousin had his happened to him stopped at a light in downtown Dollywood. It flew threw his driver side window, hit my cousin in the back, then bounce off his back windshield and died in his front seat.

I actually tailgated with the Buck I Guy before the M-OSU game in 2007. He's a wonderful person. Very friendly, funny, and nice. Glad to hear he's okay.

“Out of my peripheral vision, I (saw) something in our airspace, and it was a turkey,” Chubb said. “I’ve never seen anything like that, and I said, ‘Lonnie, do you see that big old bird?’ and bam, that’s the end of the story as I know it.”
