Urbz gonna Urbz.
Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
Urbz gonna Urbz.
This photo was taken by Columbus area surveillance of the local PD arriving at the bar where Mr. Hyde may or may not have been.
I think until someone from the program makes an official declaration of Hyde's status, everything coming out of the media is rumor. Meahwhile, enjoy this from Outkick the Coverage.
Comments from the link:
Number one: Everyone knows Hyde wasn't at the bar when the police showed up. The story said that he left after he alledgedly hit the girl.
Number two: Aaron Hernandez started as a "person of interest." This can only mean that Carlos Hyde murdered somebody.
Not really, but whatever.
Shouldn't the entire team be "persons of interest?"
I'm supposed to take the Twitter musings of Gabe Spiegel over the reporting done by The Columbus Dispatch, the local newspaper that has broken nearly every big "Ohio" story for decades?! Ummmm....no sir.
Agreed. Sports Anchors on local news are not reporters. I can't remember the last time a sports anchor in Chicago broke a story. He's just shooting for ratings by getting people to tune in to his newscast.
Do you really think someone should be kicked off of a team and lose their scholarship for being named a person of interest? I wouldn't want our coaches handling it differently. Suspend them from team activities until the facts are worked out.
This allows our friends down south to preach due process BS for awhile longer until the player is offcially found guility of being a scumbag.
Who cares at this point. Lets just be prepared to tackle whoever they have coming out of the backfield on Nov. 30, 2013
Carlos Hyde is pretty important to OSU
I will truly laugh if Meyer gets this swept under the rug, which is definitely very Ohio of them. The same will likely happen for Roby.
He did say sorry to the woman he punched in the face. So the whole treat women with respect wall board must've sunk in a little.
She didn't get knocked out, so no harm no foul.
Bucknuts (247sports) has a front page story declaring Hyde booted from the team "according to sources with knowledge of the situation."
Whoever the OP cited is just another ravenous nutter grasping at straws.
Suspended indefinetly. Not kicked off the team per Ohio State.
I think this should be at the top of the "Most Ohio things," not the tumor named Michigan.
That Tim Gardner is a real dirt bag. I'm glad Meyer is taking a stand against thugs!
It's good to see the best players still getting the least punishment.
is, example A- Michigan a Starting RB gets into a conflict of law, his team plays their biggest game of the season against a defending National Championship team away from home. Said RB suspended
B. Ohio starting RB- player has numerous "rumors" with involvement with female at club being assaulted in face. Ohio AD / Urban Meyer questions columbus police "Well, was she knocked out completely? CPD reply, "well, no not completely" Sith and Meyer to Hyde "Welcome back, we may have to ask you to sit out of the 1st half of our 1st game against Columbus High School"
I think you subconsciously meant to say Sith
Hyde hasn't been arrested or charged with anything yet, so I'd say Meyer suspending him is more than most coaches would do. From Hyde's point of view, it's like he's being treated as guilty until proven innocent as he will have no place in workouts, practices, film sessions, or any team related activities. And if he is found guilty, I guarantee he will be permanently off the team.
How would you guys have Hoke treat a player that hasn't been arrested or charged?
Care to explain why Tim Gardner received the harshest punishment?
I believe it was DUI, driving with open container, and obviously underage drinking as he is a freshman. I don't have that confirmed, though.
I am obviously trolling with my above statement.
How did (or maybe I should say how could) that turn into "interfering with police business"?
Honestly can't really say otherwise until more comes out about Gardner. Although, if what I'm hearing is true, one hasn't been charged with anything and the other was arrested and charged. That makes a difference to any coach.
Edit: no one seems to have the full story on Gardner. Also saw that he was charged with obstruction of justice, but that can be a lot of things.
"According to a published report..."
"Victim was NOT knocked out." I’m embarrassed for him, again.
Remember how Meyer’s team at Fla, routinely referred players to a Florida booster, who provided essentially free legal services and “get-out-of-jail-free” cards? When Meyer came to Ohio, however, the student newspaper boldly reported: "Meyer has no room for cover ups at OSU".
But since then, the headlines seem to say “there’s always room for one more.”.
Witness. Brionte Dunn nearly hit a patrol car, was stopped, but faced no charges for the marijuana and drug paraphernalia (which the police said: “was still warm.”) . After telling the police it belonged to his GF, the GF became hysterical and said to Bronte: “why would you lie to me and tell them it wasn’t yours and that you didn’t smoke it: why would you lie?.”
Then, after being unable to get a way with blaming his girlfriend, Brionte blamed his mom for the drugs and paraphernalia. While the police reportedly took no blood samples and did no sobriety test,Urban suggested that Brionte eventually tested negative (without noting the delay, source, or supervision of the testing).. No discipline resulted. So, Urban let Brionte first blame his GF and then, (when she called him a liar) blame his own mother--for a MJ pipe that remained "hot" many hours after he last saw her.
Likewise, while Meyer once bragged about taking away the schollies of two key players for threating police and indencent exposure. Now that summer is over, he has reinstated them. They won't miss any games. Meyer says: “I never believed they did it.” (so he now claims the police were lying but does not explain why he believed them when issuing the original suspension)
Similarly, Storm Klein was charged with domestic violence and assault (allegedly threw a woman against a door in an argument. Once Ohio lawyers had the assault charge reduced to disorderly conduct, Meyer claimed that the charges no longer “violoated the core values of the program.” So after being suspended for two early games vs cupcakes, and when no one was looking Urban quietly let the guy rejoin team,.
So, now we see Ohio muddling the status of Hyde, perhaps to permit him to return as well when nobody seems to be looking.
No more room for cover-ups? Rubbish. There’s always room for one more.…
Hadn't heard about the Dunn arrest. How many current players of theirs have been arrested?
clear violations of Meyer's tenets.
This is why his players keep doing stupid shit.
They break major laws, which in addition to being illegal, is also a violation of team rules. But then the lcoal cocoon that is the Columbus justice system lets them off with a wink. Since they have been let off, then it is deemed that no team rules were violated either. Nobody sits out any meaningful games.
If I lived in this bubble, I'd do what the hell I pleased too.
I'll say one thing abouit Meyer, he was smart enough to pick a school that had the same kind of fawning, compliant legal system that he had at Florida.
"Unverified Voracity sees Buckeye football and thinks of Jell-o"
DELETE - I can't embed videos. And it was just going to annoy you. Sorry.
I wonder if Meyer has been to the police station yet, advising the officers, wink, wink, nod, nod, not to give Hyde prefential treatment.
Now THAT'S the OSU we know.
"I have a clear set of core values in place that members of this football program are constantly reminded of and are expected to honor," Meyer said in the statement. "There are also expectations with regard to behavior. I expect our players to conduct themselves responsibly and appropriately and they will be held accountable for their actions."
There are going to be some groundings, and possibly allowance withheld for these heinous crimes.
Odds that both of these guys are starting when the Buckeyes come to Ann Arbor in November? Im going with 100%
It's unbelievable that she hit Hyde's fist with her face and is apparently getting away with it.
Hits like a b***h!
Why doesn't Carlos Hyde play Defense?
Because he only hits women!
It appears most of this will disappear. There is supposedly security footage that contradicts the assault story and supposedly the Vonn Bell incident was made up by some angry Vol radio personality. I think the rug has been lifted and there is nothing left to do but sweep.
Does this stuff really matter? Urbz will do what Urbz does, which means in about 3 years he won't have the level of talent at Ohio as when he came in. His heart will hurt and he will retire for "family reasons".
If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat it must be a rat.
