Uban Meyer = Least favorite coach
OSU = Least favorite team
Ryan Shazier = Least favorite player
This is just wonderful.
so the joke is on them.
Slice of sadness.
He should watch his diet given his history of significant health related issues.
Just contracted Dantoniarhea. I think it could be career threatening
Looks absolutely terrible. Really.
He looks old and tired.
His master plan of combining SEC ethics with borderline SEC athletes at Ohio State, and sleepwalking through a Big Ten filled with hapless rubes hit a stone wall.
Oh well, off to the AAC.
Humble pizza pie. Seriously though someone should blow this up and use it at college gameday.
I definitely had to include it for the animation, I used Urbs face and that pizza box is the first thing to get kicked out.
With his recent "health" issues, he better be careful eating that crap.
The Big Ten was so confident they were going to win that they had Archie Griffing present the trophy lol
Loved this too
Nobody wants to see a rematch or ohio's 1 loss team
that were printed saying "OSU BIg Ten Champions 2013" that they undoubtedly had ready in the OSU lockerroom. I bet I could sell them in EL for twenty bucks a pop.
Although the outcome of the game was enjoyable in some ways, I did watch it realizing that our offense didnt make a leap but rather played one of the least capable defenses on our schedule last week. MSU moved the ball easily against ohio who may have the worst secondary in the Big Ten. Minus Shazier ohio's defense could be downright miserable outside of the Dline next year...good.
OSU's defense has blown chunks the entire season.
Agree, but also that watching Ohio run the ball well against Narduzzi was even more of an indictment of how unimaginative and predictable my lovely avatar is, and probably will be for us. Hello DeBord days all over again.
How badly can a guy coach to drag down high-star recruits to the point we couldn't rull the ball against Akron and had back-to-back negative yards for the 1st time since at least 1962.
Al sucks for sure, but Funk may been the worst OL coach this side of UConn.
Taylor said that "funk is the best oline coach he has had." I am not sure if he was just saying that even though he does not believe it, or it is true and the combination of youth and talent has led to poor performance.
Lewan just likes him. Based on the results, it's safe to assume Funk has no idea what he's doing.
I think "no idea" might be a bit strong.
It might be but taking 4/5* players and putting out our worst o-line that I can remember with no improvement (probably getting worse) over a year = no idea.
I'm curious: what did you think was imaginative or unpredictable about Ohio's playcalling?
It looked to me like virtually all of their rushing yards came 1) on handoffs straight up the gut or 2) QB draws/scrambles by Miller. Their plays were pretty easy to predict by formation; an empty backfield was a virtually guaranteed QB draw, for instance.
Ohio has a very good OL, possibly the best inside runner in the country, and a super-fast QB. But I thought their playcalling left a LOT to be desired. Giving Hyde 18 carries when he was averaging six a pop - and not giving him the ball on either 3rd or 4th and short on that critical drive - was mind-blowing. They tried to be cute (splitting Hyde out as a receiver) instead of just going with what worked.
Ohio was 1 for 10 on third down.
Meh, teams always do this in preperation. It's like when tshirts are printed for a losing team in the championship game. You want it ready and available.
There was. Most likely made by the NCAA. And they might donate them to third world countries like the NFL does
I ALMOST feel bad for them. Now if Clemson beats them and then Miller announces he is going pro the schadenfreude will be comlpete.
Pro football? Is that something we're believing now? Braxton Miller to the NFL? Ha.
Braxton Miller would get killed in the NFL.
Miller has a child and apparently another on the way. The rumor is that he's gone.
Also, Cool Ranch there is probably a troll.
He definitely has a child - that's been stated on a few telecasts. Per an Ohio forum, Meyer stated after the game that he expects Miller to go pro.
Wow, really? Meyer made public comments to that effect? That's huge news, if so.
It's a lock.
I'm going with Bucky Brooks' take here:
From a scouting perspective, Miller's shortcomings as a passer in the clutch make it hard to fall in love with his spectacular talent. Sure, he can improve as a passer at the next level, but his skills now are so unpolished that scouts would have a tough time selling Miller to NFL executives
Tim Tebow went in the first round, and he was and is just as unpolished a passer as Miller. And with more and more NFL teams looking for a QB who can run, I bet someone would take a chance on him in the first round. I don't know if he'll ever turn into a great or even solid NFL QB, but with all his athleticism I really think someone's going to take the risk.
Dude's a great scrambler but not a great thrower. That's just what it is. That works good at the college level but doesn't at the Pro level.
Given that, it's hilarious that OSU has gone 24-1 over the past two seasons and has zip to show for it. I think they might have two divison titles for it but nothing else
Only 1 division title. If I'm not mistaken, they weren't eligible to win the division last year because of the tressel sanctions.
Can't wait to see the 2013 version of their division championship rings, here's last year:
I also wonder if OSU will stop their placing as much crazy importance on the UM game. In today's BCS and B1G money making scheme it really doesn't mean a tremendous amount like it used to. I know it is blasphemy, but things do change...
I'm as rabid an IU bball fan as I am an UM football fan and I'm an IU '10 alum that was born and raised in Indy. That was a joke that he cut down the nets after a fucking loss. This is Indiana damnit, that shit is unacceptable. No banners for final fours, no cutting down nets for conference titles. Anything less than a national title isn't a celebration for IU. It was a great season and a great feeling after all those seniors had gone through, but I felt like after they did that they felt like they had accomplished what they came for and let their guard down in the tourney. That's ultimately not why we lost, not knowing how to execute against a 2-3 zone was...but it contributed to a mindset of "mission accomplished" I think.
It's like when a player fouls out in basketball with no points and gets mocked by the crowd: "Five Fouls, No Points. Five Fouls, No Points!!"
"24 Games No Titles. 24 Games No Titles!!"
....and it is actually pretty funny.
Smails kid and Urban have something in common.
I'm sure they feel the same way we did after losing 42-39 at Ohio and then having Urban Cryer lobby for the #2 spot over us.
Now Urban has been schooled by Dicktonio, and they have to play in East Lansing after an MSU bye week next season.
Damn, just ventured over there. OSU getting HAMMERED. Really funny stuff.
I wonder how long before the Meyer to Texas rumors start?
Different type of schadenfreude, but I can't make a thread so...
This video is of an Oregon football players vs students snowball fight, and as you can see, it got very out of hand.
The player who dumped the snow out of a bucket? Pharoah Brown
What the fuck is wrong with people?
Some people are just ignorant and obnoxious
Also, that looked like students/players throwing shit at random people going through that area. So ya, I find that worse
I didn't expect myself to be as pissed off about this as I got. It's terrible.
Started out as harmless fun, but there are always some people who have to escalate the situation and then the mob mentality begins. I felt really bad for that dude--just driving through and didn't deserve to have snow dumped in his face by a spoiled student. I wonder if anyone will be held accountable.
Thank you for reminding me why I went to Mixhigan and why it IS better than the rest.... For what it stands for. Society breaks down without the strentgh that Michigan possesses. Youll never see something like that in Ann Arbor by our players.
Its only never until you get caught.
Hey look at me. I am in a crowd and can be anonymos while we all pick on some poor passer-by. Yeah, let's toss snow in his face and pelt him with snow balls! He won't be able to tell who I am since I am in a crowd!
Except, there are video phones, and you-yubes and you are wearing your damn letter jacket and are a huge dude everyone recognizes. So, yeah, good move there.
By the way, each snow ball qualifies as an assult if there is no consent to be in a snowball fight. I doubt anyone does anything, but it is a probably a criminal violation and the guy could sue if he got hurt by any of those shots to the face and eyes. Just saying.
Looks like an independent travel company and not OSU itself but funny none the less.
Cue random trolls saying how they are 24-1 and we are terrible so stop being happy. 3...2...1...
Counting the minutes to the ability to neg.
Being in Columbus, that is what I woke up to this morning.
I have this weird feeling we are gonna pound them in their stadium next year.
Dunno that OSU fans at buckeyeplanet were surprised. I thought the outcome was quite possible and that the pregame spread was too big. All season folks at BP have bemoaned the lack of development of the defense. Me, I gave my kids a bath and went to sleep early to nurse my cold. It's easy to say it's just a game when family provides perspective.
Will there be a TWIS this week?
Because it can pretty much write itself.
before the fall.
Makes our o line's trip to South Bend a little easier in September.
That was fully expected, he graduates this year. Its Tuitt we are most concerned about.
Buckeye tears are yummy.
Next year will be a season to remember I am sure of it. The O-line will be stronger, maturing and not nearly as easy to run through. I look for that performance by Devin last Saturday to be the norm - the late fumble, - the endless picks, with another off season to prepare for next year. We all know the running backs will be better Green and Smith looked much better towards the end of the year. TE, can you say Funchess? Do I even need to bring up the D? They will be special simular to the sparty's D without the db's being a good offensive line away from disaster. What I mean is that a good O-line will eat up the blitzing LB's and allow recievers to get down field like Indiana did . OK trolls the floor is yours tell us how this season is what you would rather talk about because the only reason this season sucked is the expectations around here. 7 and 5 is better than 4 and 8 go ask your dads. Hail! EDIt oops I just checked with my dad and he assures me MSU was 7-6 but it is still worse than us going 8-5
How we gonna take all the pretentiousness and unearned status from him and most players first? After all he is wearing 98, without earning it. This patch thing is epic fail by Brandon.
Great post. I was thinking about this exact thing last night listening to Dantonio talk about how important last season's struggles were to this season's success.
a leaflet from 1986 advertising Ohio State's Rose Bowl trip packages. They were handing them out outside St. John Arena before the skull session with the bands. This was the Jim Harbaugh "I guarantee we win in Columbus" game.
Its a travel agency that jumps the gun, not necessarily The osu.
Plenty calling in to Detroit sports radio 97.1 to discuss treatment by Ohio fans in Indianapolis. None of these callers seem to be fans of UM, but they were amazed the level of douchebagdom on display by SOME Ohio fans. Now that Sparty is a threat they will see the real Ohio on display. Can't wait until Ohio loses multiple games next year.
