Ohio Schadenfreude

Submitted by Fhshockey112002 on

So I guess Ohio was pretty confident they were going to win last night... So much so they had these placed on the windshields of all cars parked at Lucus Oil Stadium.

I'm going with Bucky Brooks' take here:

From a scouting perspective, Miller's shortcomings as a passer in the clutch make it hard to fall in love with his spectacular talent. Sure, he can improve as a passer at the next level, but his skills now are so unpolished that scouts would have a tough time selling Miller to NFL executives

Tim Tebow went in the first round, and he was and is just as unpolished a passer as Miller. And with more and more NFL teams looking for a QB who can run, I bet someone would take a chance on him in the first round. I don't know if he'll ever turn into a great or even solid NFL QB, but with all his athleticism I really think someone's going to take the risk.

I'm as rabid an IU bball fan as I am an UM football fan and I'm an IU '10 alum that was born and raised in Indy. That was a joke that he cut down the nets after a fucking loss. This is Indiana damnit, that shit is unacceptable. No banners for final fours, no cutting down nets for conference titles. Anything less than a national title isn't a celebration for IU. It was a great season and a great feeling after all those seniors had gone through, but I felt like after they did that they felt like they had accomplished what they came for and let their guard down in the tourney. That's ultimately not why we lost, not knowing how to execute against a 2-3 zone was...but it contributed to a mindset of "mission accomplished" I think.

Just PRICELESS.

I'm sure they feel the same way we did after losing 42-39 at Ohio and then having Urban Cryer lobby for the #2 spot over us.

Now Urban has been schooled by Dicktonio, and they have to play in East Lansing after an MSU bye week next season.

Started out as harmless fun, but there are always some people who have to escalate the situation and then the mob mentality begins. I felt really bad for that dude--just driving through and didn't deserve to have snow dumped in his face by a spoiled student. I wonder if anyone will be held accountable.

Thank you for reminding me why I went to Mixhigan and why it IS better than the rest.... For what it stands for. Society breaks down without the strentgh that Michigan possesses. Youll never see something like that in Ann Arbor by our players.

Hey look at me.  I am in a crowd and can be anonymos while we all pick on some poor passer-by.  Yeah, let's toss snow in his face and pelt him with snow balls!  He won't be able to tell who I am since I am in a crowd!

Except, there are video phones, and you-yubes and you are wearing your damn letter jacket and are a huge dude everyone recognizes.  So, yeah, good move there.

By the way, each snow ball qualifies as an assult if there is no consent to be in a snowball fight.  I doubt anyone does anything, but it is a probably a criminal violation and the guy could sue if he got hurt by any of those shots to the face and eyes.  Just saying.

Dunno that OSU fans at buckeyeplanet were surprised.  I thought the outcome was quite possible and that the pregame spread was too big.  All season folks at BP have bemoaned the lack of development of the defense.  Me, I gave my kids a bath and went to sleep early to nurse my cold.  It's easy to say it's just a game when family provides perspective.

Next year will be a season to remember I am sure of it. The O-line will be stronger, maturing  and not nearly as easy to run through. I look for that performance by Devin last Saturday to be the norm - the late fumble, - the endless picks, with another off season to prepare for next year. We all know the running backs will be better Green and Smith looked much better towards the end of the year. TE, can you say Funchess? Do I even need to bring up the D? They will be special simular to the sparty's D without the db's being a good offensive line away from disaster. What I mean is that a good O-line will eat up the blitzing LB's and allow recievers to get down field like Indiana did . OK trolls the floor is yours tell us how this season is what you would rather talk about because the only reason this season sucked is the expectations around here. 7 and 5 is better than 4 and 8 go ask your dads. Hail!    EDIt  oops I just checked with my dad and he assures me MSU was 7-6 but it is still worse than us going 8-5

a leaflet from 1986 advertising Ohio State's Rose Bowl trip packages.  They were handing them out outside St. John Arena before the skull session with the bands.  This was the Jim Harbaugh "I guarantee we win in Columbus" game.

Its a travel agency that jumps the gun, not necessarily The osu.

Plenty calling in to Detroit sports radio 97.1 to discuss treatment by Ohio fans in Indianapolis. None of these callers seem to be fans of UM, but they were amazed the level of douchebagdom on display by SOME Ohio fans. Now that Sparty is a threat they will see the real Ohio on display. Can't wait until Ohio loses multiple games next year.
