should be fun.

One thing that is really bugging me:

How come it seems like the sanctions haven't effected ohio recruiting numbers what so ever?

They seem to be recruiting high numbers of classes with no problem, very annoying, NCAA sanctions suck

How is OSU's OL depth at this point? I know they got some guys in 2011 and 2012, but I have not followed them closely enough to know if any have transferred or switched positions or anything.

and we're still awfully close to playing some walk-ons (Glasgow), I would be extremely concerned if I was an Ohio fan. They do know they play 5 of those guys at the same time, right? Having a depth chart of just barely a two-deep including freshmen and not including any transfers and busts is asking for a complete disaster

*All recruit data according to rivals, current numbers based on OSU's roster on their official website.

OSU currently has 15 OL on their roster, which doesn't include the two incoming true freshman, so it's really 17. Of those 17, 5 are seniors, with one being a walkon. There are an additional 3 walkons of the remaining 12 players.

So next year, OSU will have 9 scholarship OL returning, and only one of those will have starting experience.

Since 2009, OSU has signed 17 OL. Of those 17, 5 are no longer listed on the roster as OL, meaning they have either switched positions or left the program.

In the same time, Michigan has signed 16 (technically 17 but one is the LS Sypniewski) OL. Of those, 3 have left the program or are no longer OL.

So in the big picture both teams picture looks bleak-ish, but Michigan has taken significantly more OL in the past 2 years and also at a higher quality.

I was hoping he would Go Blue.  I am glad we are loaded at O-Line from the last 2 years because I do not see us landing studs across the line again this year.   Maybe the coaches are focusing on other areas.  I can't blame them.  They are killing it at every other position this cycle.  Early results being early and all.

original poster just playing one of the old standbys when a recruit commits somewhere else (nd)...laugh about how he didnt go to a third school (osu) as a coping mechanism for him not committing to michigan. of course, with the usual tired jokes about not being a commitable offer, etc.....the same thing osu boards do when michigan doesnt get a recruit.

Thought we had a good shot with the Countess connection but I'm far from heartbroken. We're not gonna get an OL class like last year's every year and I'm loving Ohio's depth issues on the Oline moving forward. It not only hurts the offense, but as we've seen during our own OL woes, it's hard for the Dline to reach its full potential when playing against a subpar OL in practice.

...that we can call all recruits, committed and uncommitted alike, "Ohio locks." They'd all be Buckeyes if Urbz didn't cool on them.

/Buckeye logic'd?

/just kidding, there's no such thing as Buckeye logic.

Also Dallis Todd, the reciever who OSU was going to get which is why they decided to cool on Drake Harris and hand him over, just committed to Oklahoma.  I'm sure whoever fills that spot for them was actually ahead of Todd and Harris so this was no big deal.

Why would a kid from Maryland be an Ohio lock?  Nothing on their board about him either.  Was he a "lock" according to some random poster or an actual recruiting analyst?

It's a meme that's been around since Urban came to Columbus where when someone who is interested in them commits elsewhere which happens a lot on the OL side we make fun of them because they consider everyone a lock to Ohio.

....over at ESPN (HERE). It mentions the 2014 Notre Dame class to date which, including Mustipher, does include two more OL recuits.

Of course, this has not stopped people on various boards from being excited at the prospect of Notre Dame being a force in 2015 or 2016 by one person's figuring, just in time for the now guaranteed annual drubbing of Duke, I assume.
