OH TE Sam Grant offered by Oklahoma

Submitted by MattC87 on

According to Sam Grant's Scouting Ohio page, he added an offer from Oklahoma. Not sure if it affects him at all, but OU's had some solid tight ends of late.

from what it sounds like, He will decide soon and kalis has been in his ear. If he ends up blue,  The oklahoma offer should only boost his recruiting rating for the people out there that get their jollies off on recruiting rankings.

Do you know anything about Brown and Michigan and whether that could still happen? Is Brown just checking all his options out? Does Michigan still want him, or have they really moved on?

I'd actually be interested to also hear as to whether we have closed the door on Standifer and Diggs. You hear different things on the boards, but the reality is that you don't always know what is really happening.

The mods at Rivals have said that Michigan is no longer pursuing Pharaoh Brown.

The same seems to be true for Standifer (the issues there are reportedly school/behavior related).

However, I have heard that the coaches have maintained contact with Stefon Diggs.  Not that it matters, because Michigan has always been a longshot for Diggs...but they're at least trying.

I've gotta say, I'm not that impressed with Sam Grant's highlight film.  He's not that fluid of an athlete and he's not a very good blocker.  He's a big body and that seems like about it.

Magnus, always enjoyed your scouting reports. Since you are answering questions I got one for you. For 2011 class you had Frank Clark  has one of your lowest rated guys. Have you seen anything from him this year that would make you change your scouting report on him? Personally he seems a bit more athletic than advertised.

If the coaches want to use TE's, then yes we do. We will have an undersized Miller, senior Moore, undersized Funchess, and Williams who might be moving to OT. Plus, even if we take all three of Wright, Reeves, and Garnett we would still have 1 schollie left which we can use on a TE. If Grant has a big body I presume the coaches can teach him to block even if he doesn't develop into a reciever, he could be a second TE on the line to block and occasionally catch a pass.
