Oh no!!! Is mgovideo dead?

Submitted by Hannibal. on

I got a "thanks to everone contributed 2007-2013" message when I went there today.  Is being able to download a game torrent a thing of the past?  Sorry if this is a repost, but I haven't seen anything in this forum about this.

I don't get how mgovideo thinks portions of broadcasts are OK for fair use and somehow avoid copyright rules.  Or that since it came from his dad's old VHS tapes that its somehow OK.  Its really no different than me walking into your house, using your bathroom, and then when you get all indignant over me being in your house firing back with "Geez...I've been coming into your house for years when you weren't paying attention, and its not like I was using the whole house anyways."

Copyright covers everything man.  Sucks, but that's the way it is.

Cosign. Honestly, as much as I appreciate what MGoVideo does/did, it's pretty clear copyrights were being infringed/downright trampled upon left and right. Intellectual property laws exist for a reason, and you can't complain when someone tries to enforce their copyrights. It's a tough pill to swallow, but them's the breaks.

Maybe because T3Media has told us themselves that it's OK to use edited game footage as long as it's less than 8 minutes. Brian used a lot of clips in his season preview, Ace uses copyrighted material when he makes gifs, half of WH's videos are still up because they're less than 8 minutes, but what they did to me was purposely file false claims on hundreds of videos that they didn't own the rights to (footage used within their own guidelines, videos that were clear fair use, mgoblue stuff, old Michigan Replays, press box footage of games that were never televised, videos produced by student athletes, 1950 Snow Bowl home movie, Mock Rock, local Baton Rouge news reports from during the coaching search, other footage owned by other networks, etc.) in order to have my account terminated. It would be cool if we still had that stuff, but honestly, I'm just happy after 6 years since the launch of the BTN that they're finally providing streams that I and people like me (military, expats, foreigners) can watch.

BTN2Go has a 720p stream. It took me 2 minutes to find it and 5 minutes to rip it to my desktop. Your connection is probably too slow to stream 720p. How long has BTN2Go been available in the states (I've had it for less than 24 hours) and yet you guys are still waiting on me and TYT?

Where did you find that link?  I can find the regular replays but can't seem to figure out how to download those replays.  Your work has been much appreciated, and I haven't used BTN2GO much because it's still not super easy and was easier to find a DL on mgovideo.

Ummm, no.  My internet connection is ridiculously fast and I can easily watch 720p videos from other sites.  The video on BTN to go simply isn't 720 p.  I chose the max resolution available and it isn't HD.  Please show me where this easy-to-find 720p download link is.  I have searched the site and I can't find anything like this.

I'm actually named after a cinematographer. My mom noticed his name in the credits of the movie Minnie and Moskowitz. I thought it was obvious too. Then when I was getting sued by Notre Dame, a lawyer told me that I probably shouldn't use my real name on mgoblog, so I changed it to my Korean name. Your Korean name is 마이크 (ma-ee-kuh) which is also the Korean word for microphone.
