Sounds like Payne isn't playing due to injury;  Dawson is out for sure.   Those playing have lingering injuries.

But the game is in East Lansing.

I think the stress-drinking from 6:55 - 9:00 tomorrow will lead to a pretty stong handover on Sunday.

around here much lately.  Is the consensus that Izzo is lying his ass off and that Payne is definately playing?  Just curious.

I'll be completely honest.  I have a dreadful old couch that my dog has overtaken as his glorified dog pillow.   It needs to be burned.   I'm more than happy to perform a couch immolation on Saturday evening to celebrate a UM victory.

As a fan, is it better to get excited and get your hopes up in anticipation of a game you are very likely to lose, or to go into it with a more somber, pessimistic expectation so that you can either be "yeah, figured" if we lose, or be pleasantly surprised on the off chance we win?  In other words are you the guy in the Bronco jersey at the Nebraska game when the half court shot went in, or the two stoic bros with hands in pockets?

With age I find the gravitational pull of stoicism drawing me forth into the world of wait and see pessimism.  Wisconsin road game aside, Michigan has gotten off to notoriously bad starts in big road games of note like Duke this year, and Ohio and MSU last year.  Lil Bro won't have Dawson, but I'd be surprised if Payne doesn't play at least 25 minutes.  Izzo's the king of sandbagging injuries.

I expect pain, I mean Payne this game.  If we win, it would be a program defining.

that whole going to Final Four was kind of program defining.  This game, beating a beat up State team on the road, would be, well, perhaps weekend defining but not a whole lot more than that.  I mean, this is a big game but nothing like a tournament game.  I would relax a little about this one, if we win, great, if we lose, we'll beat them at Crisler.  I mean, that is not the attitude that I want the players to have but the basketball season is too long as a fan to live and die with every game like it is the last.  For a game like this I am neither scared of expecting the best nor do I have to remind myself to expect the worst.

Would anyone mind explaining where the "STAEE" spelling came from, and its meaning/significance? I've been too embarrassed to ask for the longest time, but I must know. Thanks

But this is a good time to drop a Simpson's quote:

"If Washington scores, Happy fans will be looting and turning over cars in our nation's capital tonight."
