I agree, we shouldn't take anything away from Louisville, they played a hell of a game and may still have beaten us without some of the blown calls.

I would like to see the final 4 minutes of the game over again with 3 glaring blown calls reversed.
1. the missed goal tend (2 pts for us)
2. the foul on Burke in the corner (-2 pts for them)
3. the foul on Burke on the perfectly timed block (-2 pts for them)

completely different game down the stretch with just these three calls done correctly...

I think this is the right sentiment to feel.  I'd take the over the back on the rebound where Caris stepped out too.

Getting these right means a tie game with 10 seconds to play.  I can't recall any plays that went against L'ville like the above.

It was physical both ways.  Fine.  The shuffling of the feet under the basket by L'ville drove me figuratively insane,  But still, just get 2 of the above 3 calls right (1 and 3 in particular) and it's a different game.

At least the talking heads are admitting the officiating was bad and the block by Burke was a momentum changer.  A shallow win, I know.

My brother gives me shit all the time for bitching about the officials and he told me I had every right tonight and durnig the Kansas game (he's actually an official).

Aside from the phantom foul's that gave burke his 2nd and 4th, and an obvious foul being given to a UL player that wasn't near a play so Hancock could stay on the court (which all changed the game), the goal tend in the opening minutes that was missed is unforgivable.  For what those guys are getting paid for all 3 refs to miss something like that is unacceptable.

EDIT: also, the missed foul on Hancock (that was assigned to someone else) would have been his 4th and the next play down the court he drew McGary's forth on one of his pump fake and flail into the defender plays.

In the end the better team won. They did what they wanted on offense and shut down hardaway, McGary, and stauskas. Yes the officials blew but they were bad all around

Even Steve Kerr started railing on the refs about ten minutes into the first half.

Everyone saw it.  Our two best player's were in fould trouble from the start of the game . . . on phantom calls.

Yeah, I know we point to the Hardaway goaltending and the Burke block (the obvious 4 points taken off the board), but there are a ton of other calls that need to be reviewed.  This was really bad.

When you win by 6, and there are a couple of noticeably bad calls at the end, you can't then say definitively that one team was better than the other.  Hardaway had 12-5-4, and McGary was fine except he got into foul trouble and that slowed him down.  Louisville played well enough to win, but don't try to create some narrative that wasn't there.

The refs clearly changed the game...

It all started with the non-goaltend in the first couple of minutes.

I HATE when people complain about the refs. HATE IT! I don't blame officials for any of our other losses (except @ PSU).

But today it was horrible. I mean c'mon they even missed a blatant kicked ball. Or a no call on the over the back. Burke's 2nd foul. Burke's clear block.

We could literally go on forever.

And the thing is, they were calling fouls!

It was just bad all the way around and it changed the game. The officials today were a fucking joke and should never ref a tournament game again.

This is coming from someone who would NOT have complained had Morgan's charge vs. Syracuse been called a block.

Nor did I complain when McGary's clear block on Releford vs. KU was called a foul.

Worst officiated bb game that I have seen in ages. Those last few blown calls (especially the Burke block and the LeVert out of bounds) killed our comeback.

I hate losing, but I hate it more when the refs decide it for you with blown calls.

that trey block was an all-time great play. shame that it went down called as a foul.

weird how more fouls were called on louisville (justifiably), but the ones called on M affected the game.

oh well. cant take anything away from what this team accomplished.

That would have been a Duke-level ticky-tack call. If you want to complain about the goal tends, fine, whatever. But don't start ragging on them for the judgement calls on the floor. All the ones I've seen people complain about were ticky-tack calls or they called ticky-tack make up calls for the ones they missed.

The one that will piss me off forever is not giving Hancock his 4th foul because he got 5 more fucking points after he should've been fouled out. That plus the goaltend and Burke's clean block.

In a 6 point game, those things really make a fucking difference.

They missed at least 20 calls.  To be fair, they did miss some against Louisville but their calls really thwarted any chance of a comeback.  Oh well, you guys took us on quite a run that we'll never forget.

I'm not going to take anything away from this team, but I was a little surprised that Belein saved his timeouts like he did. The LVille run at the end of the first half? Could've broken that up pretty nicely with a timeout.

That said, I love Belein so much for what he gave us this season. Hopefully there's more final fours to come

Go blue, always.

I don't care what people say or the pundants acknowledge... Michigan should have won this damn game and deserved to win this game. We were the better team, played better, and rose above the  officiating the best we could. People say you can't blame officiating, in this case you'd be an idiot if you didn't.  First time in a long time that I could say that the refs cost us the game. The style of officiating along with the completely blown calls! I'm sick, and Belein should address it... When the announcers address you, you know that it's obvious.

quintuple post I've ever read. I pos'ed every gol-damn one. Spike drives the lane and gets his arm ripped off in front of two refs. The ensuing loose ball ends up in the cleanest fucking block of any of the 63 games played in the tournament and the refs call burke for his 4th on it. Judas. Fucking. Priest.

The best effing player in college bball missed - what - 3 or 4 free throws. A guy who hadn't missed a three in the tournament till the second half of the championship game misses a free throw. Make the fuckers! The refs sucked and some of their blown calls cost UM dearly but damn. We were in the double bonus long before they even got in the bonus. Make the fuckers!

1. Hardaway goaltending

2. Hancock fouled out, but gets to stay in bc trip on Morgan not called.

3. Burke blocked dunk but gets foul

Beiline failed to adjust and kept Spike in when he should have had Burke in in the 1st half and put LeVert in when he should have had Stauskus playing.
