This is the bowl they earned.  We were given the Gator Bowl last year.  I just hope we win this one, hopefully in convincing fashion.  This program can't afford additional questions moving forward.

I'm pulling for all other BIG shcools to win except for Ohio.  They need a losing streak.  An improved national perception of the BIG helps Michigan in the long run.  Constant losing to the SEC in the post season perpetuates the cycle.  We need good coaches and recruits to want to come here instead of there.

I don't understand the negativity and whining. What in the hell did you expect with a 7-5 record?

Let's just hope Michigan can carry the momentum offensively from The Game into the bowl.

I'm excited about this game. It's a bowl game, It's against a big 12 opponent and it's winnable. Hell, I'd be excited if this was the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.

Would you rather be Texas and play Oregon in the Alamo Bowl? That's going to get ugly.

Let's get a win, a trophy and send the seniors out with a ring. And Lewan can win his final came in the Maize and Blue in his home state.

I'm 100% on board with your post. I dont understand all the nagativity either.

The BWW bowl selected us BEFORE Nebraska in the Gator. You can say what ever you want about playing on NYD against an SEC team, but we've been there several times in the past 15 years and honestly I'm ready for a change. If you're not in a BCS bowl, there really isn't a huge difference between the rest. And I want to WIN!!

Also, the Big Ten bowl schedule on NYD is horrible, with 4 games starting at 12pm or 1pm, Plus you're competing with the Rose Bowl and everything else on NYD. Playing on the 28th is fine with me. It's a Saturday night, and who cares that it's a little late. It's primetime for the entire West Coast and not THAT late for East, especially on a Saturday night.

I'm really excited for this game, and I hope the team is too! Because I want us to play well, win, and build some momentum headining into 2014!!

I'm going to bet that Texas plays Oregon closer than people think. Bowls outside of the BCS are all about who gets up for them. Oregon falling to Alamo means their players are probably not going to be very motivated. Texas has been surprisingly good after getting some new coaches mid season.

This is a perfectly appropriate bowl against a perfectly reasonable opponent. I can understand people compaining about how the season went, but to complain about this bowl matchup is just silly. What the hell did people expect? We're 7-5 and no better or worse than our record.

Can someone remind my of the Big Ten bowl selection order?

Something like this right?

Big #1 >>> Rose Bowl (MSU)

Big #2 >>> Orange Bowl (OSU as BCS at-large)

Big #3 >>> Capital One Bowl (Wisconsin)

Big #4 >>> Outback Bowl (Iowa)

Big #5 >>> BWW Bowl (Michigan)

Big #6 >>> Gator (Nebraska)

Big #7 >>> Texas? (Minnesota)

Am I missing anything?

I just dont like it from the standpoint that I really dont think it does anything perception wise for us except hurt us.  When you think of football powerhouses, Kstate doesn't come to mind in any context, regardless of the fairly recent success Snyder has had.  I think if we win it will be perceived as expected nationally, but if we lose it will be another knock on the B1G.  Plus I don't see the players getting overly excited about this game like a New Years Day game so there is always the flat factor.  I see KState being a lot more motivated, ala Michigan State against us.

I watched Central Michigan. I watched Akron. I watched UConn. etc

I sure as hell am going to watch K-State and cheer on my team.

Funny that word keeps appearing.  Notre Dame will be playing Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl/Yankee Stadium on December 28.  ND played tougher opponents this season and they posted an 8-5 record - superior to our 7-5 record.  At least Team 134 seniors get to play their final college game under the sun.  Our fate could be worse.
