the official meltdown thread

Put your anger here. We won the 2005 series down the first game but damn that game was on a platter for us.

Coaches gotta make tough decisions. Hutch decided to stay with Betsa, it didn't work.

It happens in all sports, and it will open them up to crticism. It's just the job.

Kevin McHale sat James Harden for the whole 4th Quarter one game in the playoffs against the Clippers. You think the Rockets would make it to the playoffs without Harden? No fucking way, but McHale made a judgment call in the moment and it worked.

Hutch's didn't, so she gets criticism. It's just sports. Hopefully Hutch makes the right call tomorrow.

WD, I completely agree with this post and if you'll accept some unsolicited advice, you should stick to your general (and larger) point like you do here.

It'll make it less likely that someone who agrees with you in principle will disagree with how you frame your point.

We just had 650 comments in a game thread about a Michigan team playing for a championship on ESPN and people come on this site and bitch about us giving air time on this blog to that sport. That's cute. In 5 days, we'll be talking about the anal glands of dogs again and other OT topics.

Well, not everyone has time to spend every waking moment filling out stat binders. For those of us who have other things to do than follow every sport, especially when it plays at weird times and crams a ton of games into a short season, watching when the tournament comes around is kind of what 99% of people will do.

Maybe one day you'll realize that knocking what others enjoy and knocking their hobbies makes you look like a jerk when you don't even know the story behind them or why they're doing them.

You don't know the half of it, bud. So keep hating and I'll keep on keepin' on.

I didnt realize people actually cared about any Michigan sports besides football.

I mean, I see some posts about basketball...amd some for hockey. I never actually read any of them. I figured they were just filling space.

Meltdown over softball? lol

I downvoted it because every athlete on every Michigan team has given more to the Block M in one second than you ever have or will.

They're the ones dedicating 4-5 years of their life to Michigan. They're the ones who are working hard and busting their ass, most of them doing it for the last time in their lives with their respective sports that they have given their entire young lives to, while their friends are out doing what regular college student stuff.

I downvoted because I appreciate the sacrifice all of these athletes make and what they give to Michigan. If you don't, then that's your problem.

I mean....I guess I just dont give a shit what anyone has given to the block M.

I follow Michigan football purely for entertainment purposes. I have nothing to give back and I have no reason to give anything back anyway. Michigan has never given me anything.

I didnt even go to Michigan. I have never stepped foot on the campus....actually, I've never even been in lower Michigan.

Oh....damn....I didn't really you were gonna make this all dramatic...

Yeah, this got weird.

It is hardly a "sacrifice" to accept a full ride to a D1 school to play sports and go to class.

Fucking relax dude.

What gives anyone who has done anything of those things the voice to talk down to me? lol

Its not as if being able to claim any of those things makes any of you more connected to any of the teams than anyone else. That is laughable.

On mobile, so I'll be later to downvote. You have to be very strong in avoiding the many, many who root for Michigan in all sports to honesty believe people only care about football.

I'm sure many care the most about football, but I got hooked on hoops during the '89 title run and hockey in the mid-90s.

Softball has a big following. Basketball has a very big following. Not like Kentucky, UCLA, Duke, UNC, Kansas etc. but like Florida. Hockey used to fill the 7000 seats at Yost when they were good. You miss a lot of good teams and games if you only watch Michigan sports from September to January.

Mmmmmm yeah. I'm gonna guess a meltdown is not in the cards for most. The negbangs are probably from people who clicked on the thread because they thought it might be relevant only to find out it was about softball. I'm a pretty casual fan of it, don't really care too much can one way or the other and all the hokey crap drives me nuts (its not volleyball, stop high giving after every play and stop fake bunting 3-2 with 2 outs just swing the damn bat) but it's pretty cool Michigan is in the hunt for a championship nonetheless. The girls are great athletes and strong competitors so they do us all proud. This just might not be a stop on the board that everyone cares to make hence the negative votes. Maybe a change to the title would help you out.
