Official Lions Thread (I guess other NFL games are welcome)
Game of the week, unbeaten Lions to face a suprising 4-1 49ers. It's Jim Harbaugh's first return to Michigan as a NFL coach.
Lions may have a short week of preparation, but 49ers has to travel east so any advantages that both team may have is gone. I think the Lions win this one because it's at Ford Field and the Lions want to keep up the momentum to keep pace with the undefeated Packers.
Interesting, if the playoff ended today before today's games, Lions would get #1 seed and NFC North due to SOS.

It's so nice to see the Lions-Niners game touted as the premier early game today. We've had too many years of Fox burying our game in the 4th or 5th spot on the lineup card, almost embarrassed to even acknowledge our existence (and who can blame them!).
I moved to a new home 2 years ago, unfortunately in the heart of Packer country. It had Dish Network satellite installed, so I just went with it. I was a DirecTV subscriber for the preceding 8+ years and shelled out the bucks for the NFL Sunday Ticket so I could watch the Lions, thus I paid over $1000 to witness the worst stretch of professional football our modern day society has witnessed. I'm now shut out with Dish Network. NFL Network Red Zone is nice, but I like to see the whole game develop. Plus, how can I be guaranteed that they'll switch to Best right before he busts a 80+ yard TD run?! Maybe I'll head to a local watering hole and watch amongst the throngs of Packer fans. I'll be relegated to a corner TV located right next to the bathroom, though. Sucks.

Love football, hate Sundays after a Michigan loss. Any advice?
October 16th, 2011 at 1:42 PM ^
Yeah. Don't watch the highlights of yesterday's games.
October 16th, 2011 at 10:50 AM ^
I need the Lions to save my sanity for this weekend, that tigers game was really salt on a deep wound right now.
October 16th, 2011 at 10:50 AM ^
If the Lions lose today, I don't know what I'm gonna do. Tigers, Michigan, and then the Lions. I'm very depressed
October 16th, 2011 at 12:02 PM ^
At least the Red Wings won last night, 4-0 to start the season
October 16th, 2011 at 10:53 AM ^
You guys know where I can get a stream?
October 16th, 2011 at 11:03 AM ^
....I caught some of the Cowboys-Lions on atdhe.net
It wasn't the best quality, but it did the trick.

I used to use atdhe but ever since they got shut down by the feds and came back, they've had less games.

I have no personal beef with Harbaugh but on this sports weekend from Hell, I really don't want to be reminded that he is a coaching God by seeing his team beat the Lions.
Got a bad feeling about this one. The Lions are obviously superior to San Fran but we are very due for a letdown after the emotional nature of the last three weeks.

October 17th, 2011 at 12:36 AM ^
Most people expected the Lions to well. I had them starting out 6-0 before this season started
October 16th, 2011 at 12:08 PM ^
Can't wait for this game!
October 16th, 2011 at 12:41 PM ^
Go niners! Go Harb!!
October 16th, 2011 at 2:07 PM ^
Leave.
October 16th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
Just kidding. I wish Harbaugh success every other week, but this one.
October 16th, 2011 at 12:15 PM ^
I hate not being in Michigan. Game of the week and I'm stuck in steeler country with no coverage. Go to the bar and deal with insufferable pittsburgh fans or stream, that is the question...
October 16th, 2011 at 12:41 PM ^
I'm rooting for Harbaugh
October 16th, 2011 at 1:41 PM ^
Did I just hear 'complete the process' again?!?!?!
October 16th, 2011 at 2:05 PM ^
Wow the packers jerseys look soo ugly
October 16th, 2011 at 2:11 PM ^
The Lions have one of the least aggressive offenses in the NFL. Week in and week out, they seemed uninterested in going past the sticks on first and second down. The stubborn belief that they will get the running game going creates tons of 3rd & longs.
We are undefeated because we have a lot of talent and Schwartz has done a masterful job of changing the team culture. But I'm sorry, JS sucks as a gameday coach. I think Kansas City will be our first and last 14+ point win of the season. He is ridiculously conservative and will keep opponents in it.
October 16th, 2011 at 2:16 PM ^
He needs to pick it up.
October 16th, 2011 at 2:19 PM ^
So I'm a big NY Giants fan and I've never been able to watch the game out in Ann Arbor (but enjoying watching the Lions)... Lions-49ers is on FOX and Giants-Bills is on CBS. However, CBS has elected to show almost the entire country BESIDES Michigan that game. Here, we get no 1pm game and for some unknown reason... Texans at Ravens at 4:00.
Just look at how ridiculous the TV coverage map is:
October 16th, 2011 at 3:36 PM ^
The NFL does not televise a game opposite your home market team when they are plaing at home and it is being televised.
October 16th, 2011 at 3:46 PM ^
Thanks for explaining that. I guess I'm just not used to wanting to watch games every week when away from home.
October 16th, 2011 at 2:41 PM ^
Really bad first half. Just truly uninspiring football.
The Lions have a talent advantage over the Niners and it isn't even close. They need to start playing like it.
October 16th, 2011 at 2:59 PM ^
Save for the long Gore run the defense has shut the Niners down.

The offense has been brutal.
October 16th, 2011 at 3:39 PM ^
of the two big Gore runs and Stafford's incompetence.
October 16th, 2011 at 3:50 PM ^
Dear NFL your rules suck
October 16th, 2011 at 3:51 PM ^
Not this shit again! The Lions are gonna get screwed on this "complete the process of the catch" BULLSHIT. Unfuckingbelievable.
October 16th, 2011 at 3:53 PM ^
Thank God
October 16th, 2011 at 3:54 PM ^
Very happy these refs got the call right after review. Hats off to them.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:23 PM ^
Fuck! Go to work MEGATRON
October 16th, 2011 at 4:28 PM ^
This felt like a game the Lions would lose since the second quarter on, even when they were winning. Atrocious offensive performance, amplified by the piss-poor playcalling.
Schwartz and Linehan think running the ball is a good idea. On 1st & 15, on 2nd & 12, on 3rd & 1. They're insane.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:27 PM ^
All hail Megatron! It's not over.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
What a garbage football team.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:35 PM ^
No it was a garbage performance. Garbage as a constant is what you are as a poster.
You really need to start giving out your home address when you post on Sundays.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:45 PM ^
Are you stupid? Threatening people over the Internet whom you do not know is not a wise thing to do.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:34 PM ^
I suspected the Lions would come out flat today, but I didn't know the 49ers would look this mediocre. San Fran is not that good - I don't care what they're inflated record says. Acceptable team to lose to on the road, not at home.
An NFL team should NEVER let up over 200 yards rushing in a game.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:37 PM ^
I have a dollars that the Lions pull this off
October 16th, 2011 at 4:39 PM ^
October 16th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
Wow that was a clusterfuck
October 16th, 2011 at 4:41 PM ^
This is a 8-8 team.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:45 PM ^
I'm pretty sure this could just as easily be posted in response to the majority of your comments as well.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:49 PM ^
Signed, Mark Dantonio.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:50 PM ^
Yeah, I come in here EVERY SUNDAY and post that this team is a fraud after every disappointing offensive or defensive series like this fuckstick does.
This is a very talented team. Offensive gameday coaching -- not so much.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:44 PM ^
I thought you were going to stop posting on game days because you finally realized that you looked like an overly emotional 12 year old girl.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:48 PM ^
Not only that, but sexist name calling! Awesome. You could play for Mark Dantonio.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
I have to remember to not to post when I am watching these games. The up-and-down nature of football can cause one to appear bipolar.http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/lions-open-thread#comment-1266405
