Supposedly, 3 starters, 1 backup
again, rumor, but "Hearing Moore (backup LB), Ishaq (starting DE), Daniels (starting wideout), and Russell (starting CB)... FWIW"
UPDATE
Leading story is a female tutor doing players' homework in exchange for....services. If true, players will likely be expelled. Also potential for vacating 2012 "Return to glory" version 5.0 season.
UPDATE #2
The four alleged players were not seen at ND practice today, which is the first official reporting suggesting some truth the rumors.

He then offered 2 other women's names, asking if they, like Iris, don't have to go to class.
August 15th, 2014 at 2:30 PM ^
class is already too easy.
August 15th, 2014 at 1:21 PM ^
Me neither, but any excuse to post a Split Enz video is good for me.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:17 PM ^
August 15th, 2014 at 12:49 PM ^
That's actually the opposite. ND taking class seriously is a reason MM would not want to go there. :P
Speaking of ... I read the other day that some dude who couldn't make academic standards for Oregon is someone Izzo is looking at closely to bring to MSU as a transfer. Followed by Craig Evans one of their top football recruits who could not make the academic cut at Wisconsin being a celebrated recruit by MSU. Not trolling but does MSU just have the minimum academic standard to take players? I mean it is one thing to be below Northwestern or UM or Duke or NC but it doesnt strike me like Oregon is some institution of immense academic standard. How are all these kids able to get into MSU but not Wisconsin or Oregon?

is that Oregon does not accept online class credits on HS transcripts. He's evidently eligible by NCAA standards, test scores, all that stuff. Or so various internet sources tell me... it's hard to get solid information. Evidently he's down to LSU or IU.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:07 PM ^
again, rumor, but "Hearing Moore, Ishaq, Daniels, and Russell... FWIW"
Those would be some pretty big losses. Im sure after the Golson fiasco, that the university will not tread lightly on any academic issues. Im sure there will be some more information soon if there is any truth to these rumors.

who is moore?
August 15th, 2014 at 12:34 PM ^
The only Moore I see on the roster is Kendall Moore.
He is listed as a LB 6-1/250 and is a graduate student.

August 15th, 2014 at 1:39 PM ^
Not saying he did or didn't, but Kendall is in fact the Moore that's named in the rumors.

August 15th, 2014 at 1:38 PM ^
Can't confirm, he hasn't been named in the rumors yet.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:17 PM ^
I feel *ceek* really bad for their program if this were true. Also with them having just the tip in with the ACC/UNC I just feel really bad for their Purple Face Fuck of a coach....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA fuck those guys.

Sounds like it's from as far back as 2012, vacating wins sounds like a possibility. MSU could be undefeated in 2013 if true.
Holy sheeet
August 15th, 2014 at 12:15 PM ^
Not that it matters (Sparty will claim win), and you may already know this, but only ND's record is vacated...losses still count.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:15 PM ^
The vacated wins would probably result in a shift in the all time winning percentage. This isn't really of any importance, but I just had the thought.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:18 PM ^
It's important to me!
August 15th, 2014 at 1:43 PM ^
August 15th, 2014 at 12:20 PM ^
the percentage leader too. Huge slap in the face to them. I also wonder what impact it may have on 2015 recruits.
August 15th, 2014 at 1:41 PM ^
If - IF - all 12 Notre Dame wins from 2012 are vacated, ND's all-time win% drops to 73.04%, vaulting Michigan's 73.24% back into first.

August 15th, 2014 at 12:24 PM ^
afternoon to let things die over the weekend press releases.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:26 PM ^
As someone heavily recruited by ND for grad school, let me repeat the mantra from every communication I received:
ND is the the New York timezone.
August 15th, 2014 at 12:28 PM ^
until November to release the news? :)
We're observing daylight saving time therefore CDT or EDT.
